  2. 2. Phenotypic plasticity and local adaptation in island populations of Rana temporaria

    Författare :Martin Lind; Frank Johansson; Juha Merilä; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Costs of plasticity; Developmental threshold; FST; Local adaptation; Phenotypic plasticity; Pool drying; QST; Freshwater ecology; Limnisk ekologi; zooekologi; Animal Ecology;

    Sammanfattning : Phenotypic plasticity is the ability of a genotype to express different phenotypes in different environments. Despite its common occurrence, few have investigated differences in plasticity between populations, the selection pressures responsible for it, and costs and constraints associated with it. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Pressure, temperature and time constraints on tectonic models for southwestern Sweden

    Författare :Eric Austin Hegardt; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sveconorwegian; Gothian; Hallandian; U‐Pb zircon ion probe dating; Sm-Nd garnet dating; thermobarometry; continental subduction; Eastern Segment; Median Segment; Western Segment;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, a number of key localities have been investigated in detail in order to provide precise constraints on models for the tectonic evolution of southern Sweden. The new data presented in this thesis show that there are large differences in terms of pre-Sveconorwegian tectonic evolution between the Eastern and Median-Western Segments situated on either side of the Mylonite Zone, a major shear zone as well as a structural and lithological boundary. 4. 4. Sowing the Seeds of Change : Entrepreneurial Practices in a North-South Collaboration on Pemba Island from a Structuration Perspective

    Författare :Alina Husung; Malin Tillmar; Richard Ferguson; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; social entrepreneurship; entrepreneuring; structuration theory; sustainability; Global North-Global South partnership; East Africa; climate change; Business administration; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims to expand our understanding of social entrepreneuring on the micro- and meso-levels in the Global South. The study employs structuration theory by Giddens to explore how social entrepreneurs in a North-South collaboration engage in everyday practices that aim to affect socio-ecological regenerative change. 5. 5. Isotope-based constraints on sources and processing of black carbon, carbon monoxide, and brown carbon in South Asia

    Författare :Sanjeev Dasari; Örjan Gustafsson; August Andersson; Jos Lelieveld; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; South Asia; Air Pollution; Short-Lived Pollutants; Atmospheric Abundance; Model-Observation Mismatch; Radiocarbon; Stable Isotopes; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The highly populated South Asian region is facing rapid economic growth and urbanization. Here, both climate- and health-affecting atmospheric agents such as light-absorbing aerosols black carbon (BC) and brown carbon (BrC), trace gas carbon monoxide (CO), are often found in relatively high levels compared to in other regions.
