  1. 1. Att utveckla sociala indikatorer : en surveyansats belyst med exemplet arbetsmiljö

    Författare :Anders Wikman; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Statistisk; metod;

    Sammanfattning : This study shall be seen as part of a general effort striving for new and better social measures. The focus is on collecting data through surveys with interviews/questionnaires. The survey method has obvious limitations that stem from its nature of being an indirect assessment of the conditions it is supposed to measure. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Tracking Emissions Reductions and Energy Efficiency in the Steel Industry

    Författare :Johannes Morfeldt; Semida Silveira; Wolfgang Eichhammer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy efficiency; greenhouse gas emissions reductions; indicators; iron and steel industry; systems analysis; energieffektivitet; växthusgasutsläppsminskning; indikatorer; järn- och stålbranschen; systemanalys; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The iron and steel industry has become increasingly globalised. Market conditions are also changing and de-carbonisation of production is challenging.The objective of this thesis is to assess how energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions reductions can be promoted and effectively monitored in the steel industry. 3. 3. Tools for Evaluating Energy Efficiency of Steel Production : Lessons from Sweden and Europe

    Författare :Johannes Morfeldt; Semida Silveira; Mats Söderström; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy efficiency; indicators; iron and steel sector; systems analysis; energieffektivitet; indikatorer; järn- och stålsektorn; systemanalys; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The European Union faces challenges related to climate change, security of energy supply, and competitiveness of European industries. Energy efficiency indicators are required for monitoring and controlling the effectiveness of policies such as the recently endorsed Energy Efficiency Directive. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Varför gör vi inte som vi säger? : Realitet, retorik och dialektik i svensk stadsutveckling med fokus på energi och fysiska strukturer

    Författare :Tony Svensson; Göran Cars; Ulf Ranhagen; Kristina L Nilsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Complexity; comprehensive planning; dialectic; indicators; reality; resilience; rhetoric; urban planning; Komplexitet; översiktsplanering; dialektik; indikatorer; realitet; resiliens; retorik; fysisk planering; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : In this doctoral thesis, case-studies on comprehensive planning and urban development in two Swedish municipalities reveals explanations and answers to how urban form that affects energy use and climate has changed between 1990-2010, how visions and goals are expressed in planning documents and what might cause the gap between the rhetoric of planning and the reality of urban development concerning energy and climate issues.Several methods are used under the canopy of case study methodology and an abductive research approach; time-series analysis with GIS-indicators to measure changes in urban structure; discourse analysis with a focus on rhetoric and interviews with responsible planning officials using a range of dialectics-based concepts as a framework to reveal hidden structures and mechanisms behind the gap. 5. 5. Microbial communities : descriptors of environmental change in marine ecosystems

    Författare :Li Zhao; Agneta Andersson; Xiao-Ru Wang; Alexander Eiler; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : In northern marginal seas, like the northern Baltic Sea, climate change will lead to many alterations, for example increased inflows of nutrients and dissolved organic matter (DOM). Nutrients and DOM are fundamental drivers shaping marine microbial communities, including both bacterial and phytoplankton populations. LÄS MER
