  1. 1. Does speed matter? : the impact of the EU membership incentive on rule adoption in minority language rights protection

    Författare :Anna Parkhouse; Carsten Anckar; Högskolan Dalarna; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Hälsa och välfärd; Health and Welfare;

    Sammanfattning : Denna avhandling tar sin utgångspunkt i ett ifrågasättande av effektiviteten i EU:s konditionalitetspolitik avseende minoritetsrättigheter. Baserat på den rationalistiska teoretiska modellen, External Incentives Model of Governance, syftar denna hypotesprövande avhandling till att förklara om tidsavståndet på det potentiella EU medlemskapet påverkar lagstiftningsnivån avseende minoritetsspråksrättigheter. 2. 2. Mathematical Simulation of Vehicle-Pedestrian Collisions: Influence of Vehicle Impact Speed and Front-End Structure on the Dynamic Responses of Child and Adult Pedestrians

    Författare :Xuejun Liu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; child pedestrian; impact biomechanics; mathematical model; vehicle front-end structure; safety countermeasure; impact speed; parametric study; scaling method;

    Sammanfattning : The development of effective countermeasures for pedestrian protection requires an understanding of how the impact speed and front-end design of the vehicle influence the injury risks of pedestrians. Because of the high involvement of children in pedestrian accidents, there is also a need for child pedestrian mathematical models. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Damage Tolerance of Impacted Composite Sandwich Structures

    Författare :Moeen ud din Saeed Rajput; Malin Åkermo; Stefan Hallström; Magnus Burman; Christian Berggreen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; composite sandwich; cellular; polymer; material characterization; modulus; non-crimp fabric; low velocity impact; vibration; uncertainty analysis; drop-weight impact; fractography; barely visible impact damage; X-ray microtomography; compression-after-impact; bending-after-impact; high speed image processing; damage resistance; damage tolerance; Aerospace Engineering; Flyg- och rymdteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with damage tolerance of impacted sandwich structures for load bearing applications. Composite sandwich structures find wide application as lightweight solutions in aerospace components, since weight reduction and less fuel emissions are primary concerns for aircraft manufactures. 4. 4. Visuospatial inattention and processing speed : Predictors of long-term outcome and patterns of change after ischemic stroke

    Författare :Joel Gerafi; Hans Samuelsson; Tom Manly; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia; lateralized inattention; processing speed; Consciousness and Cognitive Neuroscience; Kognitiv neurovetenskap och filosofi; visuospatial inattention; language impairment; long-term functional outcome; ischemic stroke; neglect; aphasia; lateralized inattention; processing speed;

    Sammanfattning : Impairments of visuospatial attention, language, and processing speed (PS) are common early after stroke and have been associated with unfavorable short-term functional outcomes but little is known about this relationship in the long-term. This thesis investigates 1) the potential importance of visuospatial inattention (VSI) and language impairments (LI) as predictors of functional outcomes 7 years after an ischemic stroke (studies I-II) and 2) presence of lateralized inattention 7 years after stroke and potential predictors of this phenomenon (study III). 5. 5. Speed characteristics of urban streets based on driver behaviour studies and simulation

    Författare :Karin F. M. Aronsson; Karl-Lennart Bång; Bengt Holmberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Speed; Characteristics; Urban area; Road network; Street; Traffic; Driver; Side-friction element; Driving simulator; Simulation; Measurement; Behaviour; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the study was to gain in-depth knowledge of speed relationships for urban streets. The speed characteristics were examined using a number of methods for data collection. LÄS MER
