    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I analyse various texts referring to death and hope in the Hebrew Bible. The purpose of this study is twofold : a) to analyse certain selected texts in order to clarify Old Testament beliefs concerning three different aspects of death and hope in the face of death, and b) to show that death and hope formed a “dialectical unity” in the prevailing belief system.     Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates the cognitive and moral psychology of Juan Luis Vives (1493-1540), paying close attention to the background out of which his views developed. Vives’ philosophical reflections on the human soul are mainly concentrated in his treatise De anima et vita (1538), which became very influential during the century after its publication. LÄS MER
