  1. 1. Representing human-automation challenges

    Författare :Jonas Andersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; human-machine systems; control rooms; cognitive systems engineering; automation;

    Sammanfattning : Automation technology is widely implemented in process control domains due to its benefits of improving efficiency and enhancing control. However, use of automation also introduces an often complex intermediary between the human and the controlled domain, which can obscure from the operator how system functioning is achieved. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Robust Stream Reasoning Under Uncertainty

    Författare :Daniel de Leng; Fredrik Heintz; Patrick Doherty; Nick Hawes; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stream reasoning; stream processing; temporal reasoning; spatial reasoning; configuration planning; intelligent robotics;

    Sammanfattning : Vast amounts of data are continually being generated by a wide variety of data producers. This data ranges from quantitative sensor observations produced by robot systems to complex unstructured human-generated texts on social media. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Wastelands of difference? Urban nature and more-than-human difference in Berlin and Gothenburg

    Författare :Mathilda Rosengren; Matthew Gandy; Maan Barua; Steve Hinchliffe; University of Cambridge; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Berlin; Gothenburg; more-than-human ethnography; multispecies ethnography; more-than-human geography; urban green space; urban wastelands; landscape architecture; urban planning; non-human agency; affect; Stadtbrachen; Brachen; Anita-Berber-Park; St. Thomas Friedhof; Natur-Park Südgelände; Park am Gleisdreieck; Göteborg; Trollspisberget; Högåsberget; Frihamnen; Mossen; bostadsnära natur; Urban studies; Urbana studier;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores more-than-human entanglements of contemporary urban environments in order to develop a rearticulation of urban landscapes as spaces decidedly beyond the exclusively human. Taking its cue from the question “How do we live with urban difference today?,” such spaces, the thesis argues, emerge through, as well as change with, a variety of socio-ecological entwinements. 4. 4. Planerat, alltför planerat : En perspektivistisk studie i stadsplaneringens paradoxer

    Författare :Sara Westin; Irene Molina; Gunnar Olsson; Mattias Kärrholm; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; planning; architecture; urbanity; contra-finality; expert knowledge; power; paradox; perspectivism; psychoanalysis; space syntax; flâneur; alienation; reasoning rules; form process; Apollo Dionysus; logic dialectics; philobatia ocnophilia; Human geography; Kulturgeografi; Social and Economic Geography; Kulturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Why is it that modern architects and planners ? these benevolent and socially visionary ?experts? ? have created environments that can make one feel so uneasy? Such is the question that eventually grew into this thesis, where the aim is to enter into and understand the gap between ideals and realities in planning and architecture, with particular focus on projects that try to create an ?urban atmosphere?. As a starting point the author returns to the feelings she felt when she first visited one of these expertly planned areas; what the architects had described as an attractive, urban environment was to her a ghost town without life. 5. 5. Spatio-Temporal Stream Reasoning with Adaptive State Stream Generation

    Författare :Daniel de Leng; Fredrik Heintz; Patrick Doherty; Emanuele Della Valle; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stream reasoning; stream processing; temporal reasoning; spatial reasoning; configuration planning; intelligent robotics;

    Sammanfattning : A lot of today's data is generated incrementally over time by a large variety of producers. This data ranges from quantitative sensor observations produced by robot systems to complex unstructured human-generated texts on social media. With data being so abundant, making sense of these streams of data through reasoning is challenging. LÄS MER
