  1. 1. Catalytic conversion of syngas to higher alcohols over MoS2-based catalysts

    Författare :Robert Andersson; Magali Boutonnet; Sven Järås; Anders Holmen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; conversion; higher alcohols; mixed alcohols; MoS2; syngas; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis concerns catalytic conversion of syngas (H2+ CO) into a blend of methanol and higher alcohols, an attractive way of producing fuels and chemicals. This route has the potential to reduce the oil dependence in the transport sector and, with the use of biomass for the syngas generation, produce CO2-neutral fuels. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Catalytic conversion of syngas to ethanol and higher alcohols over Rh and Cu based catalysts

    Författare :Luis Gagarin Lopez Nina; Magali Boutonnet; Mario Montes Ramírez; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermochemical process; ethanol; higher alcohols; mesoporous catalysts; rhodium; copper; metal promoters; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The thermochemical process converts almost any kind of biomass to a desired final product, i.e. gaseous or liquid transportation fuels and chemicals. The transportation fuels obtained in this way are renewable biofuels, which are alternatives to fossil fuels. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Allylic alcohols and aziridines from alkenes : Studies in asymmetric catalysis

    Författare :Mikael J. Södergren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Enantioselective; allylic alcohols; epoxide rearrangement; lithium amides; desymmetrization; kinetic resolution; allylic oxidation; alkenes; aziridination; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The development of methodology for asymmetric catalytic transformation of alkenederivatives is summarized. The studies concern the [a] Cu(I)-catalyzed allylic oxidation,[b] isomerization of epoxides to allyl alcohols, and [c] Cu(I)-catalyzed alkeneaziridination, respectively.[a] The preparation of exo-2-azabicyclo[2.2. 4. 4. Catalytic conversion of biomass-derived synthesis gas to liquid fuels

    Författare :Rodrigo Suárez París; Magali Boutonnet; Agustín Martínez Feliu; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biofuels; Fischer-Tropsch wax; higher alcohols; hydroconversion; kinetic modelling; methanol cofeeding; microemulsion; MoS2; noble metal; syngas; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is one of the biggest global threats of the 21st century. Fossil fuels constitute by far the most important energy source for transportation and the different governments are starting to take action to promote the use of cleaner fuels. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A Regio- and Stereodivergent Route to All Isomers of vic-Amino Alcohols

    Författare :Berit Olofsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :amino alcohols; vinylepoxides; vinylaziridines; oxazolines; oxazolidinones; ring-opening; regioselective; diastereoselective; sphingosine; configuration; NMR spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : The first part of this thesis describes a synthetic strategythat provides all eight possible isomers of a given vic-aminoalcohol starting from vinylepoxides. The value of a generalroute is evident, as several isomers are needed ininvestigations of structure-activity relationships forpharmacologically active derivatives, and for optimizing theperformance of chiral ligands containing the amino alcoholmoiety.
