  1. 1. Automated super-resolution microscopy for high-throughput imaging

    Författare :Xavier Casas Moreno; Ilaria Testa; Florian Jug; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; RESOLFT; throughput; microscopy automation; nanoscopy; Biologisk fysik; Biological Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Fluorescence microscopes enable the visualization of biological samples with high contrast by labeling specific structures with fluorescent molecules. However, the spatial resolution of widely used microscopy techniques, such as widefield and confocal microscopy, is limited by the size of a focused spot of light, which roughly corresponds to half the wavelength of the illumination. 2. 2. Towards High-Throughput Phenotypic and Systemic Profiling of in vitro Growing Cell Populations using Label-Free Microscopy and Spectroscopy : Applications in Cancer Pharmacology

    Författare :Obaid Aftab; Mats Gustafsson; Neil Carragher; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :label free vesicle detector; high-throughput; phase contrast microscopy; Library of Pharmacologically Active Compounds; High Content Screening; fluorometric microculture cytotoxicity assay; nuclear magnetic resonance; mass spectrometry;

    Sammanfattning : Modern techniques like automated microscopy and spectroscopy now make it possible to study quantitatively, across multiple phenotypic and molecular parameters, how cell populations are affected by different treatments and/or environmental disturbances. As the technology development at the instrument level often is ahead of the data analytical tools and the scientific questions, there is a large and growing need for computational algorithms enabling desired data analysis. 3. 3. Microwell devices for single-cell analyses

    Författare :Sara Lindström; Helene Andersson-Svahn; Mehmet Toner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microwell; miniaturization; microfluidics; cell culture; single-cell; clone; imaging; stem cell; cancer; low volume; high-throughput; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Powerful tools for detailed cellular studies are emerging, increasing the knowledge ofthe ultimate target of all drugs: the living cell. Today, cells are commonly analyzed inensembles, i.e. thousands of cells per sample, yielding results on the average responseof the cells. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Miniaturised Microwell-based Cell Assays

    Författare :Emilie Weibull; Helene Andersson Svahn; Albert van den Berg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; microwell; miniaturisation; high-resolution imaging; high-throughput; cell culture; single-cell; clone; heterogeneity; antibiotic susceptibility testing; concentration gradient; interfacing; microchannels; cell retrieval;

    Sammanfattning : Cell heterogeneity in genetically identical cell populations is becoming a well-known and important phenomenon in cell biology. Current methods commonly utilise population-based analysis founded on averaged result. Hence there is a need for high-throughput cell assays on the single-cell level. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Algorithms for Coherent Diffractive Imaging with X-ray Lasers

    Författare :Benedikt J. Daurer; Filipe Maia; Tomas Ekeberg; Janos Hajdu; Richard Neutze; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; X-ray lasers; coherent diffractive imaging; algorithms; lensless imaging; flash diffractive imaging; flash X-ray imaging; aerosol injection; FEL; XFEL; CXI; CDI; FXI; Physics with specialization in Biophysics; Fysik med inriktning mot biofysik;

    Sammanfattning : Coherent diffractive imaging (CDI) has become a very popular technique over the past two decades. CDI is a "lensless" imaging method which replaces the objective lens of a conventional microscope by a computational image reconstruction procedure. LÄS MER
