  1. 1. Multiscale interfacial engineering of heterogeneous electrocatalysts : From structural design to mechanistic study

    Författare :Shiqi Zhou; Jiayin Yuan; Martin Oschatz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; heterogeneous electrocatalysis; electronic structure; coordination environment; single-atom catalysts; strain effect; hydrogen evolution reaction kinetics; charge transfer; electrochemical CO^2 reduction; local enrichment; materialkemi; Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In a typical heterogeneous electrocatalytic reaction, for the given active sites, the electronic structure plays a determining role in electron transfer between the active sites and reactant molecules, which impacts the reaction efficiency. Besides the electronic properties of the electrocatalysts, the reaction interface at which the charge transfer occurs plays an important role in the reaction kinetics. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns a nuclear accident that occurred in the Thule (Pituffik) area, NW Greenland in 1968, called the Thule accident. Results are based on different analytical techniques, i.e. gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry, ICP-MS, SEM with EDX and different sediment models, i. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Surface structure and catalytic activity of Pd and Fe oxide surfaces and thin films

    Författare :Mikhail Shipilin; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface X-ray diffraction SXRD ; Heterogeneous catalysis; Pd; PdO; Fe; FeO; Thin films; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Shipilin;

    Sammanfattning : The present work is devoted to atomic scale structural studies of the surfaces of model heterogeneous catalysts relevant to oxidation reactions. A novel approach using high-energy surface X-ray diffraction combined with mass-spectrometry measurements is employed to perform in situ structural characterization of Pd(100) and Pd(553) single crystal surfaces acting as catalysts in the process of CO oxidation under semirealistic conditions. 4. 4. Operando Single Particle Catalysis - Combining a Nanoreactor and Plasmonic Nanospectroscopy

    Författare :David Albinsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanofluidics; single particle catalysis; Cu oxidation; CO oxidation; dark field scattering spectroscopy; LSPR; microreactor; nanoreactor; heterogeneous catalysis; plasmonic sensing;

    Sammanfattning : Heterogeneous catalysis is an important cornerstone of modern society with strong ties to the development of sustainable sources of energy and products. Catalysts are typically realized as supported metal nanoparticles that offer active sites that can accelerate chemical reactions by providing energetically more favorable reaction paths. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Oxidation and Reconstructions of Alloy Model Catalysts : Platinum-Rhodium and Palladium-Gold

    Författare :Helen Edström; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
