  1. 1. Development of 18F- and 68Ga-Labelled Tracers : Design Perspectives and the Search for Faster Synthesis

    Författare :Elisabeth Blom; Bengt Långström; Oleksiy Itsenko; Irina Velikyan; Farhad Karimi; Frank Rösch; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PET; nucleophilic 18F-fluorination; perfluoro; F-SPE; molecular design; 68Ga; chelators; DOTA; NOTA; microwave; halogen exchange; harmine; biotin; RGD; VEGF; CRP; Chemistry; Kemi; Organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design of 18F- and 68Ga-labelled positron emission tomography (PET) tracers and the development of technologies that enable faster and simpler preparation with high specific radioactivity. Techniques like microwave heating and reducing the concentrations of the precursor were investigated with this perspective. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Molecular recognition and dynamics in proteins studied by NMR

    Författare :Johan Wallerstein; Biofysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemical exchange; Conformational entropy; Entropy; Galectin-3; Isothermal Titration Calorimetry; ITC; Model-free formalism; Molecular recognition; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; NMR; PGB1; Protein dynamics; Protein–ligand interactions; Proton-transfer reactions; Spin relaxation; Viscosity; Chemical exchange; Conformational entropy; Entropy; Galectin-3; Isothermal Titration Calorimetry; ITC; Model-free formalism; Molecular recognition; Nuclear Magnetic Resonance; NMR; PGB1; Protein dynamics; Protein–ligand interactions; Proton-transfer reactions; Spin relaxation; Viscosity;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge of dynamics in protein is very important in the description of protein function and molecular recognition. The thesis investigates protein dynamics on time-scales from milli- to sub-nanosecond, with focus on the latter, using NMR spin relaxation experiments on two proteins, the 138-residue carbohydrate recognition domain of galectin-3 (Gal3C) and the 56-residue B1 domain of bacterial protein G (PGB1). 3. 3. On Biogenic Halocarbons in Antarctic Waters

    Författare :Erik Mattsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Volatile biogenic halocarbons; Antarctica; Southern Ocean; Sea ice; Snow; Air-sea exchange;

    Sammanfattning : Little is known regarding the distribution of naturally produced volatile halogenated organic compounds, halocarbons, in Antarctic waters and the contribution of these waters to the global atmospheric load of halogens. In the atmosphere, halocarbons are degraded by photolysis, and form reactive halogen radicals. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Formation and Distribution of Marine Biogenic Halocarbons with Emphasis on Polar Regions

    Författare :Anders Karlsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; volatile biogenic halocarbons; Arctic Ocean; Southern Ocean; sea ice; snow; air-sea exchange; cyanobacteria;

    Sammanfattning : It is well-established that marine micro- and macroalgae form volatile halogenated compounds (halocarbons). Production occurs throughout the world ocean with strong regional sources in coastal areas. In the atmosphere, these compounds are converted to reactive inorganic halogen compounds, which degrade ozone. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Radiohalogenated Compounds for Tumor Targeting : Synthesis and Radiolabeling

    Författare :Eskender Mume; Stefan Sjöberg; Vladimir Tolmachev; D. Scott Wilbur; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inorganic chemistry; 9-Aminoacridine; Daunorubicin; Doxorubicin; Carborane; Radiobromination; Radioiodination; Affibody; Monoclonal antibody; Oorganisk kemi; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the synthesis and radiohalogenation of compounds of potential use for tumor targeting. The first section describes the synthesis and radioiodination of DNA intercalating compounds. The compounds are derivatives of 9-aminoacridine, and the anthracyclins daunorubicin and doxorubicin.
