  1. 1. Development of Multi-grit cBN Grinding Wheel for Crankshaft Grinding

    Författare :Nastja Macerol; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive; cBN; grinding; vitrified bond; grit shape; grit concentration; morphology; aspect ratio; crankshaft; grinding wheels;

    Sammanfattning : Crankshaft is a geometrically challenging component to grind. Over the years a number of grinding strategies have been developed to overcome thermal damage issues and excessive wheel wear. Radial and angular plunge processes have been adopted on some of the production machines. Recently a new, temperature-based strategy, has been proposed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Development of Multi-grit cBN Grinding Wheel for Crankshaft Grinding

    Författare :Nastja Macerol; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; crankshaft; grinding; wear; grit concentration; grit toughness; grinding wheels; grit size; automotive; grit shape; cubic Boron Nitride;

    Sammanfattning : A crankpin, part of a crankshaft, has a complex profile that is difficult to grind. The process often causes challenges such as excessive heat on the crankpin sidewall and wheel wear on the radius, causing reduced dressing interval. Different solutions were proposed to overcome these challenges, mainly focusing on the process, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Micro-grinding of titanium

    Författare :Mohammadali Kadivar; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dressing; grinding; tool topography.; modelling; Micro machining;

    Sammanfattning : Titanium and its alloys are difficult-to-cut materials, commonly used in several application fields, such as: medicine, aerospace, automotive and turbine manufacturing due to their biocompatibility, corrosion resistance, excellent mechanical and thermal properties, and light weight. However, its machining is associated with several difficulties, such as high tool wear, low surface quality, high cutting forces and high costs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Parameters in wet grinding : the influence of process variables on autogenous and conventional grinding

    Författare :Hongxin Zhai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of autogenous and conventional grinding on the liberation of particles have been studied on the laboratory, pilot and industrial scales. It appears that autogenous grinding, down to flotation fineness, results in a higher degree of liberation and smoother particle surface for flotation, than is obtained with conventional grinding. 5. 5. Comparative Study of Chemical Additives Effects on Dry Grinding Performance

    Författare :Vitalis Chipakwe; Saeed Chehreh Chelgani; Jan Rosenkranz; Tommy Karlkvist; Kirsten Claire Corin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy; Grinding aid; Flowability; Dry grinding; FT4 Powder Rheometer; Surface properties; Mineral Processing; Mineralteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The application of chemical additives, known as grinding aids (GA), dates back to 1930 in the cement industry. As opposed to the cement industry, where the use of GAs is on the final processing step, it could be one of the first process steps in ore beneficiation. LÄS MER
