  1. 1. New Techniques for Estimation of Source Parameters : Applications to Airborne Gravity and Pseudo-Gravity Gradient Tensors

    Författare :Majid Beiki; Laust Pedersen; Mehrdad Bastani; Mark Pilkington; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gravity gradient tensor; pseudo-gravity; magnetic field; eigenvector analysis; least squares algorithm; strike direction; source parameter estimation; analytic signal; Euler deconvolution; joint inversion; infinite dike model; geological contact model; Solid earth physics; Fasta jordens fysik; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Gravity gradient tensor (GGT) data contains the second derivatives of the Earth’s gravitational potential in three orthogonal directions. GGT data can be measured either using land, airborne, marine or space platforms. LÄS MER

  2. 2. 3D Geophysical and Geological Modeling in the Skellefte District: Implications for Targeting Ore Deposits

    Författare :Alireza Malehmir; Ari Tryggvason; Christopher Juhlin; Bernd Milkereit; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geophysics; Seismic reflection; Hardrock; VHMS deposits; Potential field; 3D geologic model; Skellefte District; Geofysik;

    Sammanfattning : With the advancements in acquisition and processing of seismic reflection data recorded over crystalline rocks, building three-dimensional geologic models becomes increasingly favorable. Because of little available petrophysical data, interpretations of seismic reflection data in hardrock terrains are often speculative. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Process Models for CO2 Migration and Leakage : Gas Transport, Pore-Scale Displacement and Effects of Impurities

    Författare :Farzad Basirat; Auli Niemi; Karsten Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geological Carbon Storage; CO2 leakage; Field experiment; Laboratory experiment design; Multi-phase flow; Heterogeneity; Wettability; Pore-scale modeling; Impurity gases; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Geological Carbon Storage (GCS) is considered as one of the key techniques to reduce the rate of atmospheric emissions of CO2 and thereby to contribute to controlling the global warming. A successful application of a GCS project requires the capability of the formation to trap CO2 for a long term. LÄS MER

  4. 4. 3D-modeling of the Skellefte district using electrical, potential field and reflection-seismic data : A basis for 4D-modeling of mineral belts

    Författare :Saman Tavakoli; Lena Persson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad geofysik; Applied Geophysics;

    Sammanfattning : As a part of a 4D modeling project, two studies with different scopes were conducted in the central Skellefte district (CSD), northern Sweden. The aim of the studies is to create a basis for a better understanding of the spatial relationship between geological structures and mineralization and to construct a 3D and 4D geology model of the area. 5. 5. Structural and sedimentological reconstruction of the inverted Vargfors basin : a base for 4D-modelling

    Författare :Tobias Bauer; Peter Sorjonen-Ward; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : The Palaeoproterozoic Skellefte mining district in northern Sweden covers an area of 120 by 30 km and is one of the most important mining districts in Europe, producing mainly Zn, Cu, Pb, As and Au from volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) and orogenic gold deposits.Detailed mapping of structures and stratigraphy within the sedimentary Vargfors Group combined with a structural analysis revealed a syn-extensional fault pattern of NW-SE-trending normal faults and associated NE-SW-trending transfer faults, creating the segmented sedimentary Vargfors basin.
