  1. 1. General purpose technology diffusion and labour market dynamics : A spatio-temporal perspective

    Författare :Mikhail Martynovich; Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; general purpose technology; technological change; information technology; IT; diffusion; labour market dynamics; labour mobility; worker reallocation; Sweden;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims at advancing the knowledge about the role of the labour market in the process of the technology-induced economic transformation, taking into account the variety of factors involved at micro-, meso-, and macro-levels of the economy and at different geographical scales. Empirically, the dissertation investigates the co-evolutionary dynamics of industrial restructuring and worker reallocation across and within regional labour markets induced by the diffusion of the information technology as a general purpose technology (GPT) in Sweden in the period between 1985 and 2010. Författare :Marlene Johansson Falck; Ulf Magnusson; Dirk Geeraerts; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; cognitive linguistics; cognitive tools; language; English; sense development; meaning extension; thought; metaphors; metonymies; scaffoldings; entrenchment; technology; electricity; steam engines; motor vehicles; roads; ways; Languages and linguistics; Språkvetenskap; English; engelska; Engelska med didaktiskt inriktning;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the relationship between technological innovation and the development of language and thought is analysed. For this purpose, three different fields of technology are investigated: 1) the steam engine, 2) electricity, and 3) motor vehicles, roads and ways. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Ultrasonic flow measurement methods applicable to wet low intensity magnetic separation

    Författare :Jan Stener; Kent Tano; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : In this project the internal material transport processes of wet low-intensity magnetic separation (LIMS) is studied. The aim is to use results from experiments combined with published results to create a base for further research and development. LÄS MER

  4. 4. There Is an Alloy at the End of the Rainbow: Structure and Optical Properties From Bulk to Nano

    Författare :Magnus Rahm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermodynamics; optical properties; dielectric functions; hydrides; alloy cluster expansions; alloys; nanoalloys;

    Sammanfattning : Mixing different chemical species and decreasing dimensions to the nanoscale are two powerful approaches for improving materials. In both cases new properties emerge, and structure, composition, and chemical ordering can be tuned to tailor materials for specific purposes. LÄS MER
