  1. 1. Computer-assisted surgery in children

    Författare :Magnus Anderberg; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; minimally invasive; learning curve; laparoscopy; fundoplication; da Vinci® Surgical System; costs; Children; computer-assisted; paediatric surgery; robot; robotic surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Although positive in terms of patient trauma and recovery time, minimally invasive surgery has several technical drawbacks compared with open surgery. The new da Vinci® Surgical System from Intuitive Surgical® offers technical innovations aiming at overcoming these drawbacks and at improving the surgeon’s operating skills, such as the improved 3-D vision, tremor reduction and flexible instruments with a more natural and intuitive range of motion. Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to compare the effects of laparoscopic versus open antireflux surgery in a randomized clinical trial focusing the patients' subjective and objective outcome postoperatively, from a short-term and a long-term perspective. A further aim was to describe GORD patients' experiences of illness and surgical treatment and if possible to find striking characteristics relating to laparoscopic or open surgery. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A Laparoscopic Approach in Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery : Experimental and Epidemiological Studies

    Författare :Rune Sandbu; Bo Anderberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Gastro-oesophageal surgery; fundoplication; laparoscopy; long-term results; pneumothorax; intra-cranial pressure; positive end-expiratory pressure; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The extension of laparoscopic procedures into the chest may induce specific pathophysiologic effects.In pigs, we have demonstrated how devastating a combined thoraco-laparoscopic approach can be for gas exchange. Furthermore, the transmission of elevated pressure intra-cranially is a potential danger. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Success and failure of conventional and laparoscopic fundoplication in gastro-oesophageal reflux disease

    Författare :Thomas Franzén; Folke Johnsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : The outcome of antireflux surgery in a single institution during two decades is presented.101 consecutive patients operated with open partial2 70° fundoplication and crural repair during 1982-1989 were prospectively analysed. All stages ofpreoperative oesophagitis were represented. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Operations for gastro-esophageal reflux disease. Studies on mode of action and how to improve functional outcomes

    Författare :Cecilia Engström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Fundoplication operations have gained wide acceptance as an effective and durable treatment for chronic gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). However, further valid data are required on the long-term efficacy and above all the corresponding profile of operation specific side effects. LÄS MER
