  1. 1. Event conceptualisation and aspect in L2 English and Persian : An application of the Heidelberg–Paris model

    Författare :Somaje Abdollahian Barough; Philip Shaw; Carina Jahani; Maria Kuteeva; Bergljot Behrens; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; event conceptualisation; event construal; language production; progressivity; internal structure; conceptual transfer; L1 influence; L2 learning; L2 user; dāštan-progressive; bare mi-form; imperfective; perfective; perspective-taking; English; Persian; English; engelska;

    Sammanfattning : The present project investigates the impact of the grammaticalised progressive on event conceptualisation in English and Persian. It applies the Heidelberg–Paris framework using single event descriptions for analysis at the sentence level and story re-narrations at the discourse level. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On LQG-Optimal Event-Based Sampling

    Författare :Marcus Thelander Andrén; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Event-based control; LQG control; sampled-data control; Stochastic control; Event-based PID control; Event-based state estimation; stochastic triggering;

    Sammanfattning : Event-based control is a promising concept for the design of resource-efficient feedback systems, where events such as sampling, actuation, and data transmissions are triggered reactively based on monitored control performance rather than a periodic timer. In this thesis, we investigate how sampling and communication events should be triggered to fully exploit the potential of event-based control based on the classic linear–quadratic–Gaussian (LQG) framework. 3. 3. Stochastic Event-Based Control and Estimation

    Författare :Toivo Henningsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; event-based control; event-based estimation; sporadic control; stochastic control; stochastic hybrid systems; sum-of-squares methods; control over networks; quantized measurements;

    Sammanfattning : Digital controllers are traditionally implemented using periodic sampling, computation, and actuation events. As more control systems are implemented to share limited network and CPU bandwidth with other tasks, it is becoming increasingly attractive to use some form of event-based control instead, where precious events are used only when needed. 4. 4. Händelsehorisont || Event Horizon. Distribuerad fotografi

    Författare :Cecilia Grönberg; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; analogue photography; digital photography; distributed photography; decentralised strategies; photography; fotografisk gestaltning; publishing; media ecologies; the book as medium; montage; layers; visual historiography; alternative historiography; artistic research; event horizon;

    Sammanfattning : In recent decades, photography as a technology has undergone a series of transformative changes, which have, in turn, entailed different renegotiations of the functions of photography – as image or information, as inscription or transmission. Within the framework of such a radical shift, this dissertation in photography insists on probing into and exploring the persisting effects of analogue photographs within digital ecologies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Essays on Mergers and Acquisitions and Event Studies

    Författare :Mohammad Irani; Lars Nordén; Rickard Sandberg; Neslihan Ozkan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; mergers and acquisitions; event study; prediction; payment method; conditional CAPM; time-varying parameters; structural change methodology; variance; covariance; företagsekonomi; Business Administration;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation consists of three studies on the anticipation of mergers and acquisitions (M&As) and its impact on takeover event studies. Article I investigates whether the market can anticipate both takeovers and their payment forms prior to their announcement dates. LÄS MER
