  2. 2. Influence of Substrate Topography on Ink Distribution in Flexography

    Författare :Gustavo Gil Barros; Per-Åke Johansson; Gunnar Engström; Magnus Lestelius; Patrice J. Mangin; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; paperboard; topography; optical measurement; OptiTopo; flexography; flexo; print quality; printability; uncovered area; UCA; image analysis; frequency analysis; surface properties; paper properties; test equipment; measuring instrument; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The printability of paper in flexography is largely dependent on the topographical characteristics of the substrate. Topography imaging instruments make it possible to obtain three-dimensional scans of paper surfaces that can be further used to calculate valuable quality parameters. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Flexographic Post-Printing of Corrugated Board : Contact Mechanics and Print Quality

    Författare :Erik Hallberg Hofstrand; Magnus Lestelius; Peter Rättö; Astrid Odeberg Glasenapp; D. Steven Keller; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexography; Corrugated board; Post-printing; Contact mechanics; Print quality; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : As the corrugated board industry strives to produce products with a higher print quality in the converting stage, there is a need for a greater understanding of the factors influencing the final print quality and how we perceive the print. In this work, a method for quantifying the print quality of printed corrugated board is presented as well as methods that quantitatively characterize the mechanical interaction between the printing form and the corrugated board in the printing nip. 4. 4. Aspects of Flexographic Print Quality and Relationship to some Printing Parameters

    Författare :Johanna Johnson; Lars Järnström; Magnus Lestelius; Peter Rättö; Erik Blohm; Jouko Peltonen; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexography; Print Quality; Liner; Board; Newsprint; Water-borne ink; Dynamic Pressure; Plate Properties; Wetting; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Flexographic printing is a common printing method in the packaging field. The printing method is characterized primarily by the flexible printing plate and the low viscosity inks which make it suitable for use on almost any substrate. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Hybrid printing on fibre-based packaging : Performance, Quality and Market

    Författare :Marcus Rehberger; Nils Enlund; Gunter Hübner; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; packaging; corrugated board; surface topography; print quality; variable data printing; hybrid printing; flexography; inkjet; print quality; market survey; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Variable data will play a decisive role in the future of packaging and product promotion. Variable data printing (VDP) is a technique whereby certain information can be altered in an otherwise static layout with the help of a digital printing system, and in the packaging industry a wide range of applications is possible.
