  1. 1. Fetal Anomalies : Surveillance and Diagnostic Accuracy of Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    Författare :Hashem Amini; Ove Axelsson; Johan Wikström; Pelle Lindqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pregnancy termination; fetal anomalies; antenatal diagnosis; ultrasound; second trimester; fetal MRI; CNS anomalies; pregnancy management; non-CNS anomalies; fetal autopsy; birth defects registry; ascertainment; spina bifida; cleft lip palate; Obstetrics and women s diseases; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; Obstetrics and gynaecology; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Sammanfattning : The aims were to investigate the accuracy of ultrasound in diagnosis of structural fetal anomalies with special focus on false positive findings (I), to evaluate the additional value of second trimester fetal MRI on pregnancy management (II-III) and to estimate the ascertainment in the Swedish Birth Defects Registry and incidence of spina bifida and cleft lip/palate (IV). Retrospectively, 328 fetal autopsies were identified where pregnancies were terminated due to ultrasonographically diagnosed fetal anomalies. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fractional moving blood volume in fetal organs estimated using power Doppler ultrasound

    Författare :Edgar Hernandez-Andrade; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reproduction; andrology; gynaecology; Obstetrics; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet; fetal adrenal gland; fetal lung; radionuclear microspheres; fetal lamb; perfusion; fetus; Power Doppler ultrasound; fractional moving blood volume;

    Sammanfattning : Power Doppler ultrasound (PDU) is a sensitive technique to detect slow blood movement. The aim of the present study was to develop a standardized method for quantification of the PDU signals recorded from a specific region of interest (ROI) within fetal organs. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Fetal ECG waveform analysis for intrapartum monitoring

    Författare :Isis Amer-Wåhlin; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; reproduction; Obstetrics; gynaecology; andrology; cerebral metabolism; microdialysis; implementation; fetal asphyxia; intrpartum monitoring; Fetal ECG; Cardiotocography; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : Waveform analysis of the fetal electrocardiogram has been studied since the early seventies from both physiological, signal processing and clinical aspects. It has been found to contain more useful information than the mere detection of RR-intervals (fetal heart rate), e.g. LÄS MER

  4. 4. ST analysis of the fetal ECG as an adjunct to fetal heart rate monitoring in labour-a clinical validation

    Författare :Håkan Noren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :fetal ECG; ST analysis; electronic fetal monitoring; cardiotocography; fetal blood sampling; metabolic acidosis;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to make an accurate assessment of fetal well-being during labour is a great challenge. Animal and human studies have shown that fetal hypoxemia during labour can alter the shape of the fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) waveform, notable elevation of the T-wave and depression of the ST segment. 5. 5. Continuous Intrapartum Maternal and Fetal Temperature Monitoring

    Författare :Tony Lavesson; Urogynekologi och reproduktionsfarmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :Maternal; fetal; temperature; fever; pyrexia; labor; uterine contractions; delivery; chorioamnionitis; epidural;

    Sammanfattning : The maternal temperature is normally increasing during delivery. Maternal fever in labor is a common problem.Such fever could represent a chorioamnionitis (CAM), leading to an increased risk of neonatal encephalopathy andsubsequent cerebral palsy, as well as other complications.
