  1. 1. Multiantenna Cellular Communications : Channel Estimation, Feedback, and Resource Allocation

    Författare :Emil Björnson; Björn Ottersten; Mats Bengtsson; Marios Kountouris; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; channel estimation; limited feedback; multicell communications; resource allocation;

    Sammanfattning : The use of multiple antennas at base stations and user devices is a key component in the design of cellular communication systems that can meet the capacity demands of tomorrow. The downlink transmission from base stations to users is particularly limiting, both from a theoretical and a practical perspective, since user devices should be simple and power-efficient, and because many applications primarily create downlink traffic (e. 2. 2. Limited Feedback Information in Wireless Communications : Transmission Schemes and Performance Bounds

    Författare :Thanh Tùng Kim; Mikael Skoglund; Hesham El Gamal; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diversity-multiplexing tradeoff; Large deviation analysis; Limited feedback; MIMO channels; Relay channels; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies some fundamental aspects of wireless systems with partial channel state information at the transmitter (CSIT), with a special emphasis on the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime. The first contribution is a study on multi-layer variable-rate communication systems with quantized feedback, where the expected rate is chosen as the performance measure. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Peer feedback with support of digital technology in visual art education

    Författare :Eva-Lena Forslind; Stefan Hrastinski; Ingrid Forsler; Stefan Stenbom; Fredrik Enoksson; Patrik Hernvall; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Peer feedback; digital technology; visual idea process; visual art education; K-12 education; Kamratfeedback; digitala verktyg; visuell idéprocess; bildämnet; grundskolan; Teknik och lärande; Technology and Learning;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis focuses on the development of the idea process in art education using digital peer feedback. In the school subject visual art, the visual idea process, e.g., when students sketch their ideas, is an important phase in a project. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantized Feedback for Slow Fading Channels

    Författare :Thanh Tùng Kim; Mikael Skoglund; Geir Øien; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fading channels; information rates; feedback communications; diversity methods; MIMO systems; power control; adaptive systems; quantization.; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Sammanfattning : Two topics in fading channels with a strict delay constraint and a resolution-constrained feedback link are treated in this thesis. First, a multi-layer variable-rate single-antenna communication system with quantized feedback, where the expected rate is chosen as the performance measure, is studied under both short-term and long-term power constraints. Sammanfattning : Over 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions derive from household consumption patterns. To reach the 1.5-degree target set in the Paris Agreement, new interventions to influence household behaviours are needed. This thesis examined two areas, household electricity consumption and waste sorting, where behaviour plays a large role. LÄS MER
