1. Short-Chain Fatty Acid Starch Stabilized Pickering Emulsions : Design, Properties and Applications
Sammanfattning : Pickering emulsions are emulsions stabilized by solid particles. Particles with optimal dual wettability toward both of the oil and water phases, can be adsorbed onto the interface, thereby providing the stability of the emulsions. LÄS MER
2. Multidimensional engineering for the production of fatty acid derivatives in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Sammanfattning : Saccharomyces cerevisiae , also known as budding yeast, has been important for human society since ancient time due to its use during bread making and beer brewing, but it has also made important contribution to scientific studies as model eukaryote. The ease of genetic modification and the robustness and tolerance towards harsh conditions have established yeast as one of the most popular chassis in industrial-scale production of various compounds. 3. Novel Fatty Acid Dioxygenases of Human and Plant Pathogenic Fungi : Studies by Gene Deletion and Expression
Sammanfattning : The dioxygenase-cytochrome P450 fusion proteins (DOX-CYP) comprise a heme-containing enzyme family that shares structural and catalytic properties with mammalian prostaglandin H (PGH) synthases. 7,8-Linoleate diol synthase (7,8-LDS) of Gaeumannomyces graminis was first characterized, and DOX-CYP enzymes are of mechanistic and biological interest. 4. The dynamic surface nature of calcite and its role in determining the adsorptive stability toward hydrophobizing carboxylic fatty acids
Sammanfattning : Calcium carbonate has attracted a lot of interest over the centuries. Nowadays, mainly as mineral pigment and filler, it has a wide use in technological applications ranging from paper, construction, polymers, and environmental solutions to consumer goods. LÄS MER
5. Thermally cured coil-coatings utilizing novel resins and fatty acid methyl esters as reactive diluents
Sammanfattning : Solvent-borne thermally cured coil-coating resins contain large amounts of volatile organic solvents in order to obtain suitable flow for film application. This work describes how the expensive and environmental hazardous volatile organic solvent content of a solvent-borne thermally cured polyester/melamine coil-coating system can be reduced by introduction of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) as reactive diluents and modification of the polyester binder resin.
