1. Building Retrofit using Vacuum Insulation Panels: Hygrothermal Performance and Durability
Sammanfattning : Many old buildings have unsatisfactory thermal performance compared to the standards of today. One way to increase the thermal performance is to add thermal insulation to the building envelope. However, many old buildings are listed and considered to be valuable for historical and esthetic reasons. LÄS MER
2. Retrofitting of old Exterior Wall with Vacuum Insulation Panels: Measurements of Thermal Properties, Moisture Performance and Practical Considerations
Sammanfattning : The building industry is facing one of its most challenging tasks ever. Until 2050 the energy use for heating of buildings should be decreased by 50% which means a large part of the building stock have to be retrofitted to become more energy efficient. One of the possible solutions is to add thermal insulation to the exterior wall of the buildings. LÄS MER
3. Moisture Conditions in Exterior Wooden Walls and Timber During Production and Use
Sammanfattning : Thermal insulation of building envelopes has improved over the years. This means that building envelope have become more susceptible to defects, with an increased risk of moisture damage. The criteria for energy consumption have become more rigorous, but the shift should not lead to moisture problems. LÄS MER
4. Arrangement Design Studies : the introduction of the digital wall in domestic environments
Sammanfattning : This research focuses on the emergence of 'digital walls' that can project images onto almost all or even the entirety of interior (and perhaps exterior) walls, and what implications this might have for how we arrange our rooms. It demonstrates the arrangement, i.e. LÄS MER
5. Computational studies of Poly(vinylidene fluoride) and Poly(vinylidene fluoride) - Single Wall Carbon Nanotube Composites
Sammanfattning : Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) exhibits properties that allows the material to be used in such diverse areas as wire and cable products, electronic devices, membranes, exterior coatings for constructions and in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry as fluid-handling equipment. It is the inherent molecular structure of PVDF, where every second backbone carbon is bonded to two fluorine atoms, that gives the polymer several unique properties, among them piezo- and pyroelectricity.
