  1. 1. Towards Prospective Exposure Modeling of Nanoparticles - Applying Particle Flow Analysis and Kinetic Exposure Modeling for the Cases of TiO2 and Ag Nanoparticles

    Detta är en avhandling från Chalmers University of Technology

    Författare :Rickard Arvidsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Miljökemi; Environmental chemistry; Miljöteknik; Environmental engineering; Teknik och social förändring; Technology and social change; Particle flow analysis PFA ; exposure modeling; nanoparticles; environmental risk assessment;

    Sammanfattning : The claims regarding the usefulness of nanoparticles (NPs) in different applications, such as wound dressings, solar cells and soil remediation, has been accompanied by concern that NPs may also pose risks to humans and to the environment. Considering the past century, when many substances later shown to cause unacceptable damage were manufactured in large amounts, there are reasons to thoroughly assess the risks of these NPs. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Contributions to Emission, Exposure and Risk Assessment of Nanomaterials

    Detta är en avhandling från Chalmers University of Technology

    Författare :Rickard Arvidsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2012]

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, synthetic nanomaterials have begun to be produced and used in increasingly larger volumes. These materials may cause new or increased risks to the environment, but no harmonized methods for structured assessment of their environmental risks exist. LÄS MER

  3. 3. GETTING MORE OUT OF THE AFTERLIFE

    Detta är en avhandling från Chalmers University of Technology

    Författare :Derek Diener; Chalmers tekniska högskola.; Chalmers University of Technology.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Product EoL management; MFA; remanufacturing; steel; company-level; material efficiency;

    Sammanfattning : Material intensity related to product consumption has become part of societal discourse and reducing it has become a priority of some industrial actors. Focusing on product end-of-life (EoL) is one approach that many companies and research entities have taken to identify and enact material intensity reductions. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis is to investigate two different concepts for CO2 mitigation, from a system perspective, in relation to the oil refining industry: CO2 capture and storage; and algae-based biofuels. For all these processes, process integration with an oil refinery is assumed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Chemical risk information in product chains: The cases of paint and textile
