  1. 11. Digester modelling for diagnostics and control

    Författare :Johan Jansson; Erik Dahlquist; Thore Berntsson; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pulp production; diagnostics; simulation; control; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis will show the possibility for the development and use of an on-line model for application to continuous digesters for pulp production. The model is developed by using a program called Dymola (Dynamic Modeling Laboratory). What makes the Dymola software so well suited is that the program solves equations simultaneously. LÄS MER

  2. 12. The industry role in policymaking : Policy learning in climate politics

    Författare :Peter Stigson; Yan Jinyue; Thomas B. Johansson; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Climate policy; Policy learning; Participatory policymaking; Policy evaluation; Voluntary agreements; Negotiated agreements; Industry; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Climatic change has sparked a broad range of responses on all societal levels. New initiatives and negotiations, scientific findings, and technological developments, have established a novel framework for policymaking and industrial abatement investments. LÄS MER

  3. 13. On the value of land

    Författare :Stefan Hellstrand; Jinyue Yan; Pontus Cerin; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The issue of sustainable development is once again moving the production factor land into the focus of economic theory and practise. There are three production factors, capital, labour and land. Land is a synonym to ecosystems. During the major part of the 20th century land in economic theory has been handled as a peripheral issue. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Heat Transfer Aspects of Using Phase Change Material in Thermal Energy Storage Applications

    Författare :Justin NingWei Chiu; Viktoria Martin; Luisa Cabeza; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal energy storage; comfort cooling; phase change materials; heat transfer; Thermal energy engineering; Termisk energiteknik; Other materials science; Övrig teknisk materialvetenskap; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Sammanfattning : Innovative methods for providing sustainable heating and cooling through thermal energy storage (TES) have gained increasing attention as heating and cooling demands in the built environment continue to climb. As energy prices continue to soar and systems reach their maximal capacity, there is an urgent need for alternatives to alleviate peak energy use. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Emissions from realistic operation of residential wood pellets heating systems

    Författare :Kaung Myat Win; Rebei Bel Fdhila; Tomas Persson; Erik Dahlquist; Henrik Thunman; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wood pellet; Heating; Combustion; boiler; stove; emissions; particulate matter; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik; SWX-Energi; Integrerade system för sol och biobränsle;

    Sammanfattning : Emissions from residential combustion appliances vary significantly depending on the firing behaviours and combustion conditions, in addition to combustion technologies and fuel quality. Although wood pellet combustion in residential heating boilers is efficient, the combustion conditions during start-up and stop phases are not optimal and produce significantly high emissions such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon from incomplete combustion.
