  1. 1. Endometrial carcinoma : steroid hormones and receptors in relation to proliferation

    Författare :Karin Boman; Torbjörn Bäckström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The significance of the hormonal milieu for endometrial changes is as well-known as its link with endometrial carcinoma. Unopposed oestradiol treatment is shown to increase the incidence for this cancer. Obesity leads to elevated levels of oestrogens and is a risk factor for endometrial carcinoma. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The human leucine-rich repeats and immunoglobulin-like domain (LRIG) gene family comprises three genes, LRIG1, LRIG2 and LRIG3, which encode the LRIG1, LRIG2 and LRIG3 proteins, respectively. Previous stidies have revealed the different prognostic roles of these proteins in different cancers, and it has been shown that LRIG1 functions as a tumour suppressor in certain cancers via its negative regulation of several receptor tyrosine kinases. Författare :Denis Nastic; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Endometrial carcinoma is the most common gynecological malignancy and greatly affects global disease burden. Despite it being among the most common cancers it is relatively understudied and until recently poorly understood. LÄS MER
