  1. 1. Vertical Display Cabinets in Supermarkets - Energy Efficiency and the Influence of Air Flows

    Författare :Monica Axell; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; display cabinet; model; simulation; supermarket; CFD; air curtain; energy; performance; air distribution; display case; infiltration;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns investigations of the performance of vertical refrigerated display cabinets. Such cabinets are in widespread use and account for a considerable proportion of the energy used in shops. The open front is important for the shop-owner, who wants the chilled items in the cabinet to be well exposed and easily accessible. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Laminar-flow Liquid-to-air Heat Exchangers - Energy-efficient Display Cabinet Applications

    Författare :Caroline Haglund Stignor; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy-efficiency; indirect cooling; display cabinet; pressure drop; heat transfer; flat-tube heat exchanger; cooling coil; laminar;

    Sammanfattning : Provisions are stored and displayed in supermarkets and grocery stores, at a temperature lower than the ambient, in display cabinets, which are responsible for a significant amount of the energy use in this sector. During the 1990s, major changes in the regulations governing the use of synthetic refrigerants took place in Sweden. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of constructions of reality in visual and textual representations in current exhibitions in the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm with comparisons to the Natural History Museum in Gothenburg and minor excursions to other museums. The study also includes seven giant screen films in Cosmonova: an IMAX theatre which is part of the Swedish Museum of Natural History. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Supermarket refrigeration systems for demand response in smart grids

    Författare :Tommie Månsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Supermarket; Demand-side management; Smart-Grid; Energy efficiency; Food retail; Demandresponse; Thermal modelling; Refrigerated Display Cabinet; Renewable energy;

    Sammanfattning : With an increasing share of intermittent renewable energy sources in the electrical grid, the need for adapting the demand to the available supply of electricity becomes increasingly important. Within this thesis, the demand response capacity by supermarket refrigeration systems are investigated and methods for enabling it is developed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Energy in supermarkets - An overview on the energy flows and refrigeration controls

    Författare :Tommie Månsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The electrical energy used by supermarkets represents approximately 3% of Sweden's annual energy use. Of this, the refrigeration system accounts for 50%. To reduce greenhouse gases introduced by energy generation, a larger share of renewable energy sources must be implemented. LÄS MER
