  1. 1. Developmental phase transitions in Norway spruce

    Författare :Daniel Uddenberg; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Plant development proceeds through distinct phases that are controlled by complex networks of regulatory genetic circuits and fine-tuned by environmental and endogenous cues. Many of these regulatory networks have been unraveled in annual and perennial angiosperms, while they remain predominantly unknown in ecologically and economically important gymnosperm species such as the conifers. 2. 2. Evolutionary ecology of ultraviolet-B radiation stress tolerance in amphibians

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Maarit Pahkala; Uppsala universitet.; [2001]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; amphibians; anomalies; embryonic development; geographic variation; growth; Rana arvalis; Rana temporaria; survival; UV-B radiation; Utvecklingsbiologi; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology Organism biology Developmental biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi Organismbiologi Utvecklingsbiologi; populationsbiologi; Population Biology;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decades many amphibian species and populations have experienced declines and extinctions in different parts of the world. Anthropogenic activities are believed to account for these declines, and one of the hypothesized causes has been the increased level of ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation due to depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer. 3. 3. Functional characterization of the pointed cotyledon subclass of HDZip genes in Arabidopsis thaliana

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Johannes Hanson; Uppsala universitet.; [2000]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology Organism biology Developmental biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi Organismbiologi Utvecklingsbiologi; fysiologisk botanik; Physiological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : Genes encoding homeodomain leucine zipper, HDZip, transcription factors constitute a large gene family in Arabidopsis thaliana. In this thesis the isolation and characterization of four HDZip genes (ATHB3, -13, -20 and -23) is described. These genes are similar in sequence and form a distinct subclass within the HDZip gene family. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Genetic variation and phenotypic plasticity in body traits of nestling blue tits

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Camilla Kunz; Uppsala universitet.; [1999]

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines genetic and environmental contributions to variation in body traits in a population of free-living blue tits. It also investigates possible consequences for the evolution of body size. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Host-seeking activity of Ixodes ricinus in relation to the epidemiology of Lyme borreliosis in Sweden

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Hans Mejlon; Uppsala universitet.; [2000]

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines seasonal, diel and vertical distribution patterns of activity of host-seeking Ixodes ricinus (L.) ticks at three localities in south-central Sweden. In addition, by examining the prevalence of infection in ticks with Lyme borreliosis (LB) spirochetes, Borrelia burgdorferi s. LÄS MER
