1. Particulate Debris Spreading and Coolability
Sammanfattning : In Nordic design of boiling water reactors, a deep water pool under the reactor vessel is employed for the core melt fragmentation and the long term cooling of decay heated corium debris in case of a severe accident. To assess the effectiveness of such accident management strategy the Risk-Oriented Accident Analysis Methodology has been proposed. LÄS MER
2. Accident Risk and Environmental Assessment : Development of an Assessment Guideline with Examination in Northern Scandinavia
Sammanfattning : In environmental impact assessment (EIA), accident risk should be considered as one impact. However, few studies have compared assessed risk levels with documented accidents. There is thus a need for assessing accuracy of risk assessment methodologies. LÄS MER
3. Deglaciation pattern and dynamics in the Bolmen area, southwestern Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Late Weichselian deglaciation of an area in southwestern Sweden was reconstructed by geomorphological, sedimentological and lithostratigraphical methods. The morainic deposits were mapped and classified into three landsystems: Streamlined terrain, hummocky moraine and cover moraine. LÄS MER
4. Cold-climate landforms on Mars and Earth-analogues in Svalbard
Sammanfattning : Periglacial landforms on Earth reflect cold-climate conditions and are intimately related to processes due to the presence of ground ice and perennially frozen ground, permafrost. The overall objective of this thesis is to investigate the potential of Svalbard as an analogue to Mars cold-climate landforms, and explore past and present processes and surface conditions on Mars by inference from morphological counterparts in Svalbard. 5. Towards understanding breakage and flow in sublevel caving (SLC) : Development of new measurement techniques and results from full-scale tests
Sammanfattning : Blast function, fragmentation and gravity flow are core elements for sublevel caving (SLC). For the ore recovery to be as high and the waste rock dilution as low as possible all three elements have to work as planned. LÄS MER
