1. Industrial Management Models with Emphasis on Construction Waste
Sammanfattning : Increased attention is nowadays devoted to waste management. The objective of this work is to analyse how commonly known business economic models and methods, as well as the Polluter-Pays Principle, can be applied to waste management in general and to waste fractionation in particular, so as to facilitate environmental optimisation of industrial and construction waste fractionation. 2. Monolithic Integrated Oscillators - Phase Noise Analysis and Inductor Modeling
Sammanfattning : This doctoral dissertation studies voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) that operate at low supply voltages. Due to smaller transistor sizes and lower supply voltage ratings with every new CMOS technology, voltage headroom is diminishing. LÄS MER
3. Essays on Asymmetric Information and Environmental Regulation through Disclosure
Sammanfattning : This dissertation delves into different aspects of a relatively new policy approach for industrial pollution control: the public dissemination of information by regulators regarding the environmental performance of firms. These schemes are sometimes referred to as regulation through disclosure or informational regulation. LÄS MER
4. Transmutation of Americium in Fast Neutron Facilities
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the feasibility to use a medium sized sodium cooled fast reactor fully loaded with MOX fuel for efficient transmutation of americium is investigated by simulating the safety performance of a BN600-type fast reactor loaded with different fractions of americium in the fuel, using the safety parameters obtained with the SERPENT Monte Carlo code. The focus is on americium mainly due to its long-term contribution to the radiotoxicity of spent nuclear fuel and its deterioration on core's safety parameters. LÄS MER
5. Towards Trustworthy and Secure Internet of Things Devices : Using hardware-assisted Trusted Execution and Automated Certification
Sammanfattning : The advent of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) for IoT aligns with the reinforcement of IoT security through recent laws and regulations. A major part of IoT systems comprises of resource-constrained devices, with less margin in memory and computation capabilities to embed sophisticated security solutions. LÄS MER
