  1. 1. On the influence of surface roughness on rolling contact forces

    Författare :Oskar Lundberg; Ines Lopez Arteaga; Leif Kari; Matthias Kröger; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rolling contact; Surface roughness; Contact forces; Contact modelling; Friction; Road; Asphalt; Substrate; Test-rig; Sliding; Stick–slip; Tyre; Rubber; Tread-block; Wheel–rail interaction; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Road vehicle tyres, railway wheels and ball bearings all generate rolling contact forces which are transferred within a finite area of contact between the rolling element and the substrate. Either it is visible or not for the human eye, a certain degree of roughness is always present on the contacting surfaces and it influences the generation of both vertical and lateral contactforces. 2. 2. On Rolling Variators, A study of power transmitting rolling variators when changing speed ratio

    Författare :Göran Brännare; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; friction drives; traction drives; variators; traction; CVT; speed ratio change; rolling traction trnasmissions; continously variable transmissions; rolling contact drives; transmission ratio change;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of the concept Rolling Variators is proposed for rolling contact continuously variable transmission.A theoretical study of rolling variators when changing the speed ratio during power transmission is presented. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the running-in of gears

    Författare :Sören Sjöberg; Ulf Olofsson; Anders Flodin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :gears; gear manufacturing; running-in; surface topography; contact area ratio; manganese phosphate; Mechanical engineering; Maskinteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The general trend in gear industry, today, is an increased focus on gear transmission efficiency. Gear transmission efficiency losses arise from loaded and unloaded gear contacts, seals, lubricant and bearings. One way of minimising the losses is to lower the lubricant viscosity. This will reduce the speed dependent losses. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Tactile perception is considered an important contributor to the overall consumer experience of a product. However, what physical properties that create the specifics of tactile perception, are still not completely understood. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of Multi-grit cBN Grinding Wheel for Crankshaft Grinding

    Författare :Nastja Macerol; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automotive; cBN; grinding; vitrified bond; grit shape; grit concentration; morphology; aspect ratio; crankshaft; grinding wheels;

    Sammanfattning : Crankshaft is a geometrically challenging component to grind. Over the years a number of grinding strategies have been developed to overcome thermal damage issues and excessive wheel wear. Radial and angular plunge processes have been adopted on some of the production machines. Recently a new, temperature-based strategy, has been proposed. LÄS MER
