21. Glycosaminoglycan Biosynthesis in Zebrafish
Sammanfattning : Proteoglycans (PGs) are composed of highly sulfated glycosaminoglycans chains (GAGs) attached to specific core proteins. They are present in extracellular matrices, on the cell surface and in storage granules of hematopoietic cells. LÄS MER
22. Influences of in vivo and in vitro loading on the proteoglycan synthesis of articular cartilage chondrocytes
Sammanfattning : In this study, the biosynthesis of proteoglycans (PGs) was examined in articular cartilage of canine hip joint after long-distance running experiment and in bovine chondrocyte cultures during in vitro loading with hydrostatic pressure. In addition, new assays were developed for more sensitive quantitation of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) and PGs. LÄS MER
23. Promoting the Clinical Relevance of 3D Bioprinting
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development of methodologies enabling the reconstruction of autologous, functional, and long-term-stable cartilage-like tissue using 3D bioprinting technology and animal experiments. The stability, resilience, and in vivo viability of the printed cells and tissue vascularization, as well as the observed immunogenicity and safety, represent the main issues evaluated and discussed in this thesis. 24. Effects of proteasome inhibitors on chondrogenesis and linear bone growth
Sammanfattning : Linear bone growth occurs at the growth plate, a thin layer of cartilage between the epiphysis and metaphysis of long bones. In the growth plate, resting/stem-like chondrocytes divide and generate the highly proliferative chondrocytes, which further differentiate into the enlarged hypertrophic form before being substituted by bone, a process called endochondral ossification. 25. Local regulation of growth plate chondrocytes : molecular mechanisms and implications for longutidinal growth
Sammanfattning : The regulation of linear growth is a complex and intriguing process that has the growth plate cartilage as its final target. Growth plate is a specialized cartilage localized in the end of the long bones between the epiphyseal and metaphyseal bone. LÄS MER
