    Sammanfattning : Much has been written about the kingdom of Aram-Damascus, and if one considers the scarcity of the source material, one could almost say: too much! One of the results of this study is that our historical sources do not support such an extensive history of this kingdom as some scholars have written. The study is a thorough examination of both textual and archaeological sources for the history of the kingdom of Aram-Damascus. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This study takes as its starting point John 12:24, the epigraph that Dostoevsky selected for The Brothers Karamazov. The verse is considered here as a pre-figurative model and symbol in Dostoevsky’s thought and authorship. More specifically, the notion of kenosis is argued to constitute a transfigured motif and a gloss for an imitatio ideal. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I analyse various texts referring to death and hope in the Hebrew Bible. The purpose of this study is twofold : a) to analyse certain selected texts in order to clarify Old Testament beliefs concerning three different aspects of death and hope in the face of death, and b) to show that death and hope formed a “dialectical unity” in the prevailing belief system.     Sammanfattning : Ever since Bernhard Duhm launched his theory about the so-called Ebed YHWH-Songs in Deutero-Isaiah in 1875 and which continued in his commentaries on Isaiah from 1892, the matter has been eagerly discussed over the years, not least in Sweden. I want to illuminate how the matter has been treated in our country during the 20th century and even to give an overview of the discussions in the rest of Scandinavia during the same period of time.
