    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; autoimmune hepatitis; autoimmune liver disease; hepatocellular carcinoma; surveillance; pregnancy; pregnancy outcome; cirrhosis; fibrosis; epidemiology; cause of death; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Background Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a chronic autoimmune liver disease that is overrepresented in women (75% of cases). Studies have described a 10-year survival after diagnosis near to that of the general population, but less is known about the long-term survival. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Clinical and experimental studies of organ-specific autoimmune diseases : With special reference to Addison's disease and autoimmune hepatitis : by Gennet Gebre-Medhin

    Författare :Gennet Gebre-Medhin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medical sciences; Addison s Disease; replacement therapy; DHEA; autoimmune hepatitis; APS I; autoantigen; cytochrome P4501A2; aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase; MEDICIN OCH VÅRD; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Organ-specific autoimmunity constitutes a large health problem, where both the clinical management and our understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms need to improve. Women with Addison's disease have abnormally low levels of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), its sulphate ester (DHEA-S) and androgens relative to age, and many patients complain of physical and mental fatigue and low stress tolerance. 4. 4. Associations of type 2 diabetes mellitus with cancer and autoimmune diseases. A population-based epidemiological study in Sweden

    Författare :Xiangdong Liu; Allmänmedicin och klinisk epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Type 2 diabetes mellitus; cancer; autoimmune disease; cause of death; hazard ratio; standardized incidence ratio; survival; risk factor;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aimed to search for epidemiological evidence supporting the associations of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with cancer and autoimmune diseases (ADs) by analysing several Swedish national registries. T2DM shares risk factors with cancer, such as obesity, diet, stress, and physical inactivity. LÄS MER
