    Sammanfattning : Diabetes mellitus in pregnancy causes congenital malformations in the offspring.The aim of this work was to characterize biochemical and morphologic anomaliesin the conceptus of an animal model of diabetic pregnancy. In addition, apreventive treatment against diabetes-induced dysmorphogenesis was developed. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Consumption and loss of commercial stabilisers in polyethylene exposed to different natural environments

    Författare :Nadejzda Haider; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :LDPE; MDPE; ultrasonic extraction; polymer additives; stabilisers; antioxidants; HALS; Irganox 1010; Irgafos 168; migration; consumption; GC-MS; additive degradation products;

    Sammanfattning : A procedure for the extraction and analysis of commercialstabilisers in low density and medium density polyethylene(LDPE and MDPE) films was developed and used to study theconsumption of stabilisers in polymers exposed to differentnatural environments. An ultrasonic technique was applied toextract HALS-3 (Chimassorb 944) from LDPE film and antioxidants(Irganox 1010 and Irgafos 168) from MDPE film. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Exploring Novel Catalytic Chalcogenide Antioxidants

    Författare :Henrik Johansson; Lars Engman; Helena Grennberg; Troels Skrydstrup; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the synthesis and evaluation of regenerable chalcogen containing antioxidants. Variously substituted 2,3-dihydrobenzo[b]selenophene-5-ol antioxidants were evaluated in order to gain information about structure/reactivity-relationships. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Preharvest Conditions Affecting Apple Quality, Antioxidant Responses and Susceptibility to the Infection by Grey mould (Botrytis cinerea)

    Författare :Tuyet Bui Thi Anh; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Malus x domestica; grey mould; preharvest weather; apples’ quality; antioxidants; harvest year;

    Sammanfattning : Apple fruits are rich in vitamin C and other antioxidants, which are beneficial for human health. During postharvest storage, there are losses as a result of diseases such as grey mould, caused by the fungus Botrytis cinerea. The present work has investigated how to obtain a high quality of apples, allowing long-term storage. LÄS MER
