  1. 1. Modulation of B cell access to antigen by passively administered antibodies : an explanation for antibody feedback regulation?

    Författare :Hui Xu; Birgitta Heyman; Helena Harris; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; IgG; IgG3; IgE; suppression; enhancement; epitope masking; antigen transport; antigen presentation; follicular B cells; marginal zone B cells; Immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Antibody responses can be up- or down-regulated by passive administration of specific antibody together with antigen. Depending on the structure of the antigen and the antibody isotype, responses can be completely suppressed or enhanced up to a 1000-fold of what is seen in animals immunized with antigen alone. 2. 2. Dendritic cell presentation of type II collagen

    Författare :Meirav Holmdahl; Lund Dermatologi och venereologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; chromosome 2; arthritis; proteases; antigen presentation; Dendritic cell; type II collagen;

    Sammanfattning : Type II collagen (CII) is the main protein component of cartilage and immune recognition of CII plays a critical role for the development of collagen induced arthritis (CIA), a widely used animal model for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Antigen presentation is an important requirement for the immune response, the more efficient presentation of the antigen the better tolerance will be induced and thereby protect against arthritis. 3. 3. The quality control of MHC class I antigen presentation

    Författare :Kajsa M Paulsson; Antigen presentation; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chaperone; assembly; COPI; antigenic peptide; TAP; MHC; tapasin; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi;

    Sammanfattning : Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules present antigenic peptides to CD8+ T cells. The peptides are generated by proteasomes in the cytosol, then translocated across the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) by the transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Antigen presentation by dendritic cells and immunomodulation by cholera toxin B subunit. Implications for vaccine development

    Författare :Annie George-Chandy; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dendritic cells; cholera toxin B subunit; antigen-presentation;

    Sammanfattning : Antigen presentation by dendritic cells is the first event that takes place upon initiation of an acquired immune response. The inductive events during antigen presentation will essentially govern the orientation and the magnitude of the subsequent immune responses. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Tapasin - The star of the show in HLA-I maturation

    Författare :Camilla Thuring; Antigen presentation; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Tapasin; HLA-I; tumor; antigen presentation;

    Sammanfattning : Human leukocyte antigen class I (HLA-I) molecules are present on the cell surface of all nucleated cells. They bind intracellular peptides and present them to the immune system thus providing a readout to cytotoxic T-cells about the status of a cell. LÄS MER
