  1. 1. Improving the Evaluation Process for Active Safety Functions

    Författare :Mikael Ljung Aust; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Situational Control; Advanced Driver Assistance Systems; Safety Benefit Assessment; Driver Behavior Analysis; Active Safety Systems; Crash Causation Analysis; In-depth Crash Investigation;

    Sammanfattning : The general aim of the present thesis was to improve key steps in the procedure for functional, formative evaluation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Five unresolved theoretical and empirical issues were identified and addressed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Steering control for haptic feedback and active safety functions

    Författare :Tushar Chugh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; position control; coupled stability; passivity; steering system; uncoupled stability; transparency; active safety; haptic feedback; torque control; state estimation;

    Sammanfattning : Steering feedback is an important element that defines driver–vehicle interaction. It strongly affects driving performance and is primarily dependent on the steering actuator's control strategy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Vehicle Dynamics Control for Active Safety Functions using Electrified Drivelines

    Författare :Adithya Arikere; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; driver assistance systems; intersection accidents; torque vectoring; optimal control; rear- end collisions; speed control; active safety; vehicle dynamics; electrified drivetrain; obstacle avoidance with oncoming traffic;

    Sammanfattning : Studies have shown that even considering pledges and commitments made by various governments and organisations, the growth in electrified vehicle sales is likely to be insufficient to reduce CO2 emissions for mitigating global warming. Some form of added incentive is needed that can help drive electrified vehicle sales in the open market. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Developing Theoretical and Empirical Definitions of Safety Problems in Driving Suitable for Active Safety Function Evaluation

    Författare :Mikael Ljung Aust; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; avoidance; driver behaviour; pre-crash scenarios; crash causation; adaptation; motivation; conceptual framework; active safety functions;

    Sammanfattning : In passive safety, the requirement specifications used for evaluation of protective functions are both standardised and specified at a high level of detail regarding evaluation scenario definition, performance metrics and pass/fail criteria. For active safety, while several propositions for evaluation scenarios have been made, neither these, nor performance metrics and pass/fail criteria have yet reached a similar level of detail and standardisation. 5. 5. Truck Steering System and Driver Interaction

    Författare :Kristoffer K D Tagesson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; steering system; active safety; driver behaviour; active steering; torque feedback; heavy trucks;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a compilation of methods to consider when mapping steering functions and results as vehicle dimensions change. It is concluded that some final tuning inevitably will be required as major changes are performed. It is however possible to create qualified starting points using a set of simple rules as presented.
