  1. 21. Structural-acoustic analysis of wall-to-floor joints in timber-framed housing

    Författare :Åsa Bolmsvik; Torbjörn Ekevid; Göran Sandberg; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acoustics; Akustik; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Even though a building meets the regulations with respect to impact sound, structures with wooden frames may receive complaints from the inhabitants due to structure-borne sound in the lower frequencies. In this thesis measuring methods that are more precise than the traditional measuring methods have been used to see if they could give a better knowledge about flanking transmission in the low frequencies in timber-framed structures. 2. 22. Kunskapsbildning mellan träindustri och akademi : en studie av dess förutsättningar och möjligheter

    Författare :Johan Palm; Thomas Thörnqvist; Lena Fritzén; Leif Jonsson; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Research collaboration; Joint research; Knowledge development; Theory and practice; Participatory observation; Wood timber industry.; Forskningssamverkan; Kunskapsbildning; Teori och praktik; Deltagande observation; Träindustri. Sammanfattning : Small and medium-sized enterprises badly need new knowledge. Their need is constantly increasing due to the market demand for custom-designed products, which means companies must be more flexible. Wood processing companies are having difficulty establishing contact with academia in order to meet this need. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Perceptions of Wooden Multifamily Houses : Applying an Extended Association Pattern Technique

    Författare :Tobias Schauerte; Anders Baudin; Anders Pehrsson; Arno Frühwald; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wooden multifamily houses; German construction market; end-user; perceptions; house building industry; Means-End theory; laddering; Association Pattern Technique; matrix-survey.; Other industrial engineering and economics; Övrig industriell teknik och ekonomi; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : During the past years, wooden one and two family houses showed a higher growth rate on the German construction market compared to conventional material like brick and stone. Wood as construction material became more and more attractive. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Steel-to-timber dowel joints : Influence of moisture induced stresses

    Författare :Johan Sjödin; Hans Petersson; Carl-Johan Johansson; Per-Johan Gustavsson; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; constraint stresses; contact-free measurement; dowel-type joints; humidity variations; moisture-induced deformations; timber structures; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Joints are critical parts of timber structures, transmitting static and dynamic forces between structural members. The ultimate behavior of a loaded building depends strongly on the structural configuration and the capacity of the joints. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Shear walls for multi-storey timber buildings

    Författare :Johan Vessby; Hilmer Riberholt; Växjö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multi-storey structures; timber engineering; wind stabilization; shear walls; cross-laminated timber wall panels; fasteners; connections; sheathing; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Wind loads acting on wooden building structures need to be dealt with adequately in order to ensure that neither the serviceability limit state nor the ultimate limit state is exceeded. For the structural designer of tall buildings, avoiding the possibly serious consequences of heavy wind loading while taking account at the same time of the effects of gravitation can be a real challenge.
