  1. 1. Local Environment at Stake : The Hallandsås Railway Tunnel in a Social and Cultural Context

    Författare :Annelie Sjölander-Lindqvist; Humanekologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hydraulic engineering; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Civil engineering; ethnology; Cultural anthropology; groundwater; environmental impact; landscape; Facility siting; local community; Hallandsås railway tunnel; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; etnologi; Kulturantropologi;

    Sammanfattning : A major trend in facility siting research focuses on economic and psychological aspects of land-use regarding the location of potentially hazardous technological facilities including storage for high-level radioactive waste, landfills, chemical plants, large-scale dams, or waste incinerators. Such facilities frequently have profound environmental impact and are often understood by local citizens as intrusions on their environment that threaten landscape, place, and community. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Fatigue of Asphalt Mixes - Theory of Viscoelasticity and Continuum Damage Mechanics Applied to Uniaxial Fatigue Data from Laboratory Tests

    Författare :Richard Nilsson; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; asphalt mixture; viscoelastic; Fatigue; deterioration models; Continuum Damage Mechanics; laboratory test; uniaxial; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The advance of analytic (mechanistic) design methods increases the need for fundamental material properties. Fatigue cracking due to traffic loading, in combination with permanent deformation (rutting), thermal cracking, irregularities, frost heave and reflective cracking are some of the major criteria used when designing an asphalt concrete pavement. 3. 3. Rut Depth Prediction on Flexible Pavements - Calibration and Validation of Incremental-Recursive Models

    Författare :Sven Agardh; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; offshore technology; Civil engineering; hydraulic engineering; Teknik; Technological sciences; PM-system; deterioration models; rutting; pavement design; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : In later years the development of pavement design has gone towards more and more analytically based methods. Future design will probably be based on incremental deterioration models. The objective is to evaluate different types of rut depth prediction models for an incremental design process. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hydrological effects of water harvesting techniques

    Författare :Slah Nasri; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; offshore technology; hydraulic engineering; hydrological effects; Civil engineering; rainwater harvesting; erosion;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis investigates hydrological effects of large-scale water harvesting techniques on local water balances as well as sediment erosion. The techniques of tabias, soil contour ridges and small hill reservoirs are investigated. Pertinent processes are observed and simulated using various hydrological models.. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Reliability-based assessment procedures for existing concrete structures

    Författare :Joakim Jeppsson; Avdelningen för Konstruktionsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; concrete; reliability theory; service life; assessment; monitoring; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : A feasibility study of reliability theory as a tool for the assessment of present safety and residual service life of damaged concrete structures has been performed in order to find a transparent methodology for the assessment procedure. It is concluded that the current guidelines are open to interpretation and that the variation in the results obtained regarding the structural safety is too great to be acceptable. LÄS MER
