  1. 1. Capturing travel entities to facilitate travel behaviour analysis : A case study on generating travel diaries from trajectories fused with accelerometer readings

    Författare :Adrian Corneliu Prelipcean; Yusak Octavius Susilo; Gyözö Gidofalvi; Stefan van der Spek; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; travel diary automation; trajectory segmentation; travel data collection; travel diary collection system evaluation and comparison; Geodesy and Geoinformatics; Geodesi och geoinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : The increase in population, accompanied by an increase in the availability of travel opportunities have kindled the interest in understanding how people make use of the space around them and their opportunities. Understanding the travel behaviour of individuals and groups is difficult because of two main factors: the travel behaviour's wide coverage, which encompasses different research areas, all of which model different aspects of travel behaviour, and the difficulty of obtaining travel diaries from large groups of respondents, which is imperative for analysing travel behaviour and patterns. 2. 2. Telecommuting's implications on travel and travel patterns

    Författare :Jo Skåmedal; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Telecommuting; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Economic Information Systems; Ekonomiska informationssystem;

    Sammanfattning : The subject field is within technology and social change, with focus particularly on telecommuting and the possible changes that arises in the travel patterns as a result of the telecommuting situation. When a person starts working from home once or twice a week instead of commuting back and forth to the main work place, a number of changes in the telecommuters' distribution of travel can and most probably will arise. 3. 3. A Time Perspective on Gendered Travel Differences in Sweden

    Författare :Kandice Fults; Anders Karlström; Maria Börjesson; Merritt Polk; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Gendered Travel Behavior; Probit Model; Travel Patterns; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur; SRA - Transport; SRA - Transport;

    Sammanfattning : Gender differences in travel behaviors are relevant in addressing equity needs and a variety of policy issues.  In order to effectively design gender equity policy, whether transport-related or other, one must first understand the differences found in travel behaviors between genders and what the implications of those differences are. 4. 4. Introduction of regional high speed trains : A study of the effects of the Svealand line on the travel market, travel behaviour and accessibility

    Författare :Oskar Fröidh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :The Svealand line; high speed trains; regional travel; travel behaviour; choice of transport mode; accessibility; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The Svealand line opened in 1997 and the services areoperated with regional high speed trains. While the Svealandline was being built, the slow trains that had been inoperation on the old railway between Eskilstuna and Stockholm(a distance of 115 km) were replaced by buses with a highfrequency of service. 5. 5. Vägar inom räckhåll : Spåren efter resande i det förindustriella bondesamhället

    Författare :Ylva Stenqvist Millde; Gert Magnusson; Anders Andrén; Eva Svensson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Reach; range; roads; travel; institutional; flexibility; outland use; peripheral communities; Ängersjö; Älvros; Enviken; Hälsingland; Dalarna; Archaeology; Arkeologi; arkeologi; Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the importance of human patterns of movement and interfaces in the local community and the constituents of peripheral forest communities, taking roads and human patterns of movement as the starting point. Questions are raised concerning how people have related to roads and travel - institutionally or flexibly. LÄS MER
