  1. 1. Den gemensamma transportpolitiken : Elimineringen av hinder för de gränsöverskridande vägtransporterna inom den Europeiska Gemenskaperna 1958-1992

    Författare :Juan Bergdahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Economic history; European Community; Common Transport Policy; road transport; infrastructure; institutional theory; Ekonomisk historia; Economic history; Ekonomisk historia; Ekonomisk historia; Economic History;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation analyses the European Community's political efforts to eliminate barriers to Community road transport between and within the member states. In this context, the study concentrates on the Community's activities to remove barriers to market access, such as limitations to the freedom to provide transport services, and pshysical barriers such as infrastructure capacity restrictions, checks and inspections at Community internal borders. 2. 2. Simulation Studies for Improved Efficiency in Road and Rail Freight Transports

    Författare :Ingrid Johansson; Markus Bohlin; Oskar Fröidh; Behzad Kordnejad; Carl-William Palmqvist; C. Tyler Dick; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; heavy-duty vehicle platooning; road traffic simulation; intelligent transport systems; optimal control; longitudinal cruise control; fuel economy; railway traffic simulation; microscopic simulation; macroscopic simulation; freight trains; early departures; capacity; railway stations; strategic planning; timetable compression; UIC Code 406; Transportsystem; Transport Systems;

    Sammanfattning : The demand for road and rail freight transport continues to grow with the expanding economy, while the climate crisis requires reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, tools and solutions for reducing fossil fuel use and enabling more efficient use of infrastructure are needed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Green Logistics through Modal Shift - exploring the role of the transport capacity contract

    Författare :Fredrik Eng Larsson; Teknisk logistik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; green logistics; modal shift; mode choice; capacity management; supply chain contracting; intermodal transport;

    Sammanfattning : Among policy-makers in Europe the modal shift - a shift från polluting modes of freight transport to less polluting modes - has been a popular suggestion for reducing CO2-emissions of transportation. In particular, intermodal road-rail solutions, where a combination of road and rail transport is utilized to move trailers and containers, have been stressed as an important measure to reach de desired reduction in emissions. 4. 4. Railway capacity analysis : Methods for simulation and evaluation of timetables, delays and infrastructure

    Författare :Anders Lindfeldt; Bo-Lennart Nelldal; Ullrich Martin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Järnvägsgruppen - Kapacitet; Järnvägsgruppen - Kapacitet;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis the symptoms and underlying behaviour of congestion on railways are analysed and discussed. As well as in many other countries, Sweden faces increasing demand for transportation. To meet this new demand, railways play an important role. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Methods for Capacity Allocation in Deregulated Railway Markets

    Författare :Abderrahman Ait Ali; Jonas Eliasson; Anders Peterson; Maria Börjesson; Yves Crozet; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; railway capacity; capacity allocation; train timetable; cost benefit analysis; deregulated market; spårkapacitet; kapacitetstilldelning; tågtidtabell; samhällsekonomisk analys; avreglerad marknad;

    Sammanfattning : Faced with increasing challenges, railways around Europe have recently undergone major reforms aiming to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the railway sector. New market structures such as vertical separation, deregulation and open access can allow for reduced public expenditures, increased market competition, and more efficient railway systems. LÄS MER
