  1. 1. Radioimmunotherapy of Metastatic Disease - Studies of Alpha- and Beta-particle-Emitting Radionuclides in a Preclinical Model

    Författare :Sophie Eriksson; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radioimmunotherapy; Antibody therapy; Lutetium-177; Astatine-211; Syngeneic tumor model; Colon carcinoma; Metastases; Autoradiography;

    Sammanfattning : In radioimmunotherapy, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are used as a targeting agent carrying a toxic payload consisting of radionuclides. This treatment allows the irradiation of small lesions, even on the microscopic level. In the present work, two radionuclides with different properties were used. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High-Dose Radioimmunotherapy and Extracorporeal Depletion in A Syngeneic Rat Tumor Model

    Författare :Linda Mårtensson; Bröstcancer-genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) consists of using monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) recognizing tumor-selective antigens, as carriers of cytotoxic radionuclides to tumor tissue. RIT has been effective in lymphoma but less successful in solid tumors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Radioimmunotherapy in an Immunocompetent Tumor Model utilizing a 177Lu-mAb

    Författare :Erika Elgström; Tumörmikromiljö; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) is a therapeutic strategy in which radionuclides are conjugated to monoclonal antibodies that bind to tumor-associated antigens in the tumor, so that the decay of the radionuclide takes place inside the tumor. The aim of the research presented in this thesis was to investigate the effects of RIT (utilizing the radioconjugated antibody 177Lu-BR96) on an inoculated tumor and the development of metastases. Sammanfattning : Abstract: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder. There is no proven protection, but many treatments can partially improve symptoms. The disease is caused by monogenetic mechanisms in very few cases, but for the majority of patients the etiology is unknown. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The effect of the tumor environment on the anti-tumor immune response

    Författare :W David Culp; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Sammanfattning : Cancer immunotherapy is the process of stimulating the host's immune system to kill cancer cells, and it is being investigated as adjuvant therapy to traditional cancer treatments such as, surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Two advantages of using immunotherapy are that it employs additional tumor killing strategies, and it often results in modest side effects for patients. LÄS MER
