  1. 1. Solid state characterisation and compaction behaviour of pharmaceutical materials

    Författare :Christina Gustafsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacy; Solid-state; Tablet; Thermal analysis; Cellulose; Spectroscopy; NMR; NIR; FT-IR; Crystallinity; MVDA; FARMACI; PHARMACY; FARMACI; farmaceutisk farmakologi; Pharmaceutical Pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, factors important in tableting operations and for tablet properties have been studied and characterised by different spectroscopic techniques as well as by some more conventionally used particle characterisation techniques. The spectroscopic techniques solid-state NMR, FT-IR and NIR spectroscopy, proved to be valuable tools in the estimation of particle and tablet properties, offering both specificity and sensitivity in the measurements. 2. 2. Pharmaceutical cocrystals : formation mechanisms, solubility behaviour and solid-state properties

    Författare :Amjad Alhalaweh; Peter York; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; crystal engineering; cocrystal; formation; solubility; pH; dissolution; surface properties; solid-state properties; Health Science; Hälsovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The primary aim of pharmaceutical materials engineering is the successful formulation and process development of pharmaceutical products. The diversity of solid forms available offers attractive opportunities for tailoring material properties. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Alkylglycoside Surfactants - Self-Assembly, Solid-State Properties and Interactions with Hydrophobic Molecules

    Författare :Caroline Ericsson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; peptide stabilisation; solubilisation; micelle morphology; solid-state behaviour; alkylglycosides; nonionic surfactants;

    Sammanfattning : A thorough physical-chemical characterisation of alkylglycosides has been performed. The effects of temperature, salt, concentration and deuterium exchange on the self-aggregation of n-nonyl-b-D-glucoside (b-C9G1) and n-tetradecyl-b-D-maltoside (b-C14G2) have been studied in dilute solutions by static and dynamic light scattering, neutron scattering, rheology, capillary viscometry and tensiometry. 4. 4. Engineering of Pharmaceutical Particles : Modulation of Particle Structural Properties, Solid-State Stability and Tabletting Behaviour by the Drying Process

    Författare :Jonas Berggren; Göran Alderborn; Graham Buckton; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutics; particle engineering; microcrystalline cellulose pellets; intragranular porosity; convective drying; tabletting behaviour; spray-dried composite particles; amorphous lactose; PVP; heat and moisture-induced crystallisation; glass transition temperature; Galenisk farmaci; Pharmaceutics; Galenisk farmaci; galenisk farmaci; Pharmaceutics;

    Sammanfattning : Relationships between stresses during the drying process, particle structural and functional properties, and particle engineering by the drying process were addressed in this thesis. In the first part, the importance of the drying phase and the effect of the drying rate on the intragranular porosity of microcrystalline cellulose pellets were investigated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Improved Molecular Understanding of Lipid-Based Formulations : for Enabling Oral Delivery of Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs

    Författare :Linda C. Alskär; Christel Bergström; Brendan Griffin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; lipid-based formulation; poorly water-soluble drug; solubility prediction; molecular properties; lipid digestion; precipitation; solid state; intestinal solubilization; in vitro in vivo correlation IVIVC ; coadministration; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : The majority of emerging drug candidates are not suited for conventional oral dosage forms, as they do not dissolve in the aqueous environment of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Consequently, a large number of enabling formulation strategies have emerged. LÄS MER
