  1. 1. Planning for Solar Buildings in Urban Environments

    Författare :Jouri Kanters; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; architecture; design tool; design process; solar energy; urban planning; photovoltaics; solar thermal; building integration; density; net zero energy buildings; interviews; parametric studies; action research;

    Sammanfattning : Energy use in buildings accounts for a significant proportion of the total energy use in many countries. While past and current buildings have solely been energy consumers, future buildings will, besides using less energy, also need to produce (part of ) the required energy on site with renewables. 2. 2. Characterization of dye-sensitized solar cells : Components for environmentally friendly photovoltaics

    Författare :Hanna Ellis; Anders Hagfeldt; Gerrit Boschloo; Erik Johansson; Maria Hahlin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; solar cells; dye-sensitized solar cells; Chemistry with specialization in Physical Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : As fossil fuels, the major source of energy used today, create the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide which causes global warming, alternative energy sources are necessary in the future. There is a need for different types of renewable energy sources such as hydropower, windpower, wave- power and photovoltaics since different parts of the world have different possibilities. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Interactions in Dye-sensitized Solar Cells

    Författare :Helena Greijer Agrell; Anders Hagfeldt; Gerrit Boschloo; Laurence Peter; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; solar cells; photovoltaics; dye-sensitized; mesoporous; nanostructured; Raman scattering; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The interactions between the molecular constituents in dye-sensitized solar cells were studied with UV-VIS and IR spectroscopy, Raman scattering, conductivity and electron accumulation measurements.From stability studies of the dye, bis(tetrabutylammonium)cis-bis(thiocyanato) bis(2,2’-bipyridine-4-carboxylic acid, 4’-carboxylate) ruthenium(II), in the complete solar cell, the thiocyanate ion ligand was found to be lost from the dye. 4. 4. Solar Variability Assessment and Grid Integration : Methodology Development and Case Studies

    Författare :David Lingfors; Joakim Widén; Uwe Zimmermann; Eva Wäckelgård; Tobias Boström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar variability; Photovoltaics; Grid integration; GIS; Distributed generation; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : During the 21st century there has been a tremendous increase in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) capacity globally, due to falling prices and introduction of economic incentives. PV systems are in most cases small-scale, installed on residential dwellings, which means that the power production is widely distributed and close to the end-user of electricity. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Solar Variability Assessment in the Built Environment : Model Development and Application to Grid Integration

    Författare :David Lingfors; Joakim Widén; Jan Kleissl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Solar Variability; Photovoltaics; Grid Integration; Distributed Generation; LiDAR; GIS; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : During the 21st century there has been a rapid increase in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) capacity globally, due to falling system component prices and introduction of various economic incentives. To a large extent, PV systems are installed on buildings, which means they are widely distributed and located close to the power consumer, in contrast to conventional power plants. LÄS MER
