    Författare :Celinda Palm; Sarah E. Cornell; Tiina Häyhä; Fredrik Moberg; Kate Fletcher; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Sustainability; Fashion; Social-ecological system; Transdisciplinarity; Critical realism; Positionality; Hållbarhet; Mode; Social-ekologiska system; Tvärvetenskap; Kritisk realism; Positionalitet; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling; Sustainability Science;

    Sammanfattning : The fashion industry contributes to shaping the state of the planet: impacts of production and consumption of textile fast-fashion are rising, and the growing number of sustainability-oriented actions have not slowed current trends. The industry’s (un)sustainability is mainly researched within two epistemic communities: fashion studies concerned with social sustainability, and circular economy focused on material biophysical and technological aspects of material cycles along the value chain. 2. 2. Multi-level Interactions between Fisheries and Trade : Modeling intertwined social-ecological systems

    Författare :Laura G. Elsler; Schlüter Maja; Florian Diekert; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Sustainable and equitable fisheries are central for addressing the challenges of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water. Sammanfattning : The present study is one of the first attempts to analyze the societal importance of seagrasses (marine flowering plants) from a Natural Resource Management perspective, using a social-ecological systems (SES) approach. The interdisciplinary study takes place in East Africa (Western Indian Ocean, WIO) and includes in-depth studies in Chwaka Bay, Zanzibar, Tanzania. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Meaning and Action in Sustainability Science : Interpretive approaches for social-ecological systems research

    Sammanfattning : Social-ecological systems research is interventionist by nature. As a subset of sustainability science, social-ecological systems research aims to generate knowledge and introduce concepts that will bring about transformation. Yet scientific concepts diverge in innumerable ways when they are put to work in the world. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Understanding interest politics in social-ecological systems : Mechanisms behind emergent policy responses to environmental change

    Författare :Kirill Orach; Maja Schlüter; Henrik Österblom; Thorsten Blenckner; Scott Page; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Social-ecological system; policy process; interest group; agent-based modelling; process tracing; adaptive governance; Sustainability Science; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental policymaking is embedded in social-ecological systems (SES) that continuously evolve and change, often in unexpected and non-linear ways. Such challenges call for responsive policymaking that adjusts policy when new information and knowledge about social-ecological change is available. LÄS MER
