16. Micro- and Nano-structured Metal Films for Optoelectronic Devices
Sammanfattning : Two types of micro and nanostructures of metal-dielectric films have been explored with the intention of improving optoelectronic devices. The first part of the thesis concerns the design, fabrication and characterization of a metallic photonic crystal (mPhC). LÄS MER
17. Wise Process Routes for Varying Feedstock in Base Metal Extraction : Modelling of a Peirce-Smith Converter and Investigation of Buildup Formation in an Electric Smelting Furnace
Sammanfattning : Copper, like silver and gold, is one of the metals that are known to have been worked by some of the oldest civilisations on record. It is used forits unique properties such as corrosion resistance, good workability, high thermal conductivity and attractive appearance. LÄS MER
18. Clinical aspects of restorative treatment in the primary dentition
Sammanfattning : The failure rate of restorative treatment in primary teeth was studied in a cohort of children born in 1981 and related to caries diagnosis, prevalence and distribution on different tooth surfaces, and compared with a cohort of children born in 1971. Concurrently, the longevity of composite resin in modified Class 2 cavities in primary molars was followed up and the resistance of deciduous and permanent enamel to acid adjacent to composite resin and glass polyalkeonate cement (GPA) was tested in vitro. 19. Adhesion Characterization and Reliability Issues of Anisotropic Conductive Adhesives for Microsystem Applications
Sammanfattning : There has been a steadily increasing interest in using electrically conductive adhesives as interconnecting materials in electronics manufacturing. Simple processing, low bonding temperature and fine-pitch capability are the major advantages of conducting adhesive technology. LÄS MER
20. Functionalization and Characterization of Carbon Based Nanomaterials for Electronics, Composite and Biomedical Applications
Sammanfattning : Surface functionalization of nanomaterials to combine different material’s properties together opens up unlimited possibilities for both academic research and industrial applications. In this thesis, flexible and scalable chemical approaches to functionalize carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) are developed for different applications, including electronics, composite and biomedical applications.
