  1. 1. Sexual Relationships between Athletes and Coaches : Love, Sexual Consent, and Abuse

    Författare :Susanne Johansson; Håkan Larsson; Carolina Lundqvist; Kari Fasting; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; coach-athlete sexual relationship; sexual harassment and abuse; romantic love; sexual consent; gender and sexuality; power and agency; sport; Samhällsvetenskap Humaniora; Social Sciences Humanities;

    Sammanfattning : Coach-athlete sexual relationships (CASR) and sexual harassment and abuse (SHA) in sport can profoundly impact athletes’ welfare and performance. Yet, it is often ignored due to sensitivity, secrecy, and lack of knowledge. There is no previous research on SHA in sport in Sweden, and legal, consensual, same-sex CASR is under-researched. 2. 2. Modelling Sexual Interactions : Sexual behaviour and the spread of sexually transmitted infections on dynamic networks

    Författare :Disa Hansson; Tom Britton; Fredrik Liljeros; KaYin Leung; Janneke Heijne; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical modelling; Sexually transmitted infections; Egocentric network analysis; Dynamic networks; Sexual behaviour; HIV; Statistical inference; Mathematical Statistics; matematisk statistik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we develop statistical and mathematical models to study different factors of relevance for the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Two special interest groups for STI interventions are considered: sexually active youths and men who have sex with men (MSM). LÄS MER

  3. 3. On Sexual Imprinting in Humans

    Författare :Hanna Aronsson; Johan Lind; Magnus Enquist; Jerry Hogan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sexual Imprinting; Paraphilia; Fetishism; Sexual Preferences; Partner Preferences; Sexual Development; Ethology and behavioural ecology; Etologi och beteendeekologi; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; etologi; Ethology;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I investigate whether human sexual preferences develop through sexual imprinting. Sexual imprinting is the acquisition of sexual preferences through non-rewarded experiences with parents and siblings during an early sensitive period and it is known to exist in many other animals. 4. 4. Trading in sexual currency: Transactional sex, sexual coercion and sexual behaviours among young people in Uganda

    Författare :Vikas Choudhry; Socialmedicin och global hälsa; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Uganda; youth; university; transactional sex; alcohol; risky sexual behaviors; sexual coercion; gender norms; sexual scripts; globalization; bio-ecological systems;

    Sammanfattning : The growing incidence and prevalence of sexually transmitted infections among young people, particularly HIV, is a public health concern in Uganda. There is increasing evidence that Ugandan youth engage in risky sexual behaviors, transactional sex, and experience sexual coercion. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sexual Conflict and Gene Expression in Drosophila melanogaster

    Författare :Paolo Innocenti; Edward Morrow; Göran Arnqvist; Andrew G Clark; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sexual conflict; sexual selection; male-female coevolution; gene expression; transcriptome; microarrays; sexual dimorphism; Drosophila; Biology; Biologi; Biologi med inriktning mot zooekologi; Biology with specialization in Animal Ecology; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Genetics; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Sexual conflict is broadly defined as a conflict between the evolutionary interests of the two sexes. Depending on the genetic architecture of the traits involved, it can occur at the level of male-female interactions or take the form of selection acting to change the mean of a shared trait against the sign of its genetic correlation.
