1. Doping of Semiconductor Nanowires
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, in situ doping during growth of III-V semiconductor nanowires, primarily for photovoltaic applications, is investigated. The nanowires were grown by metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE), with gold seed particles. LÄS MER
2. Carrier dynamics in semiconductor quantum dots
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents results of time-resolved photoluminescence experiments conducted on several different self-assembled InGaAs/GaAs and InAs/GaAs semiconductor quantum dot (QD) structures. Depending on the application in mind, different structural, electronic or optical properties have a different weight of importance. LÄS MER
3. Scanning capacitance microscopy for semiconductor characterisation
Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER
4. Optical Properties of Low Dimensional Semiconductor Materials
Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents a serial study on optical properties of different semiconductor materials. Three main types of studies are addressed: The role of doping levels of N and Al atoms in the room-temperature photoluminescence (PL) of 4H-SiC films for optoelectronic applications; the use of a basic Monte Carlo method combined with probability calculations of the time-dependent Schroedinger equation to manifest multi-photon absorption and emission of II-VI compound quantum dots (QDs) for bioimaging; a theoretical quantum chemistry approach to study of structure and optical properties of InGaAsN and GaAs clusters for laser technology applications. 5. Scanning probe techniques as an investigation tool for semiconductor nanostructures and devices
Sammanfattning : Semiconductor nanostructure based devices provide new opportunities for contributing to a sustainable energy usage. This includes harvesting of energy (solar cells) and saving of energy, e.g. in lighting (light-emitting diodes, LEDs) and transfer of energy (power devices). LÄS MER
