1. Families of cycles and the Chow scheme
Sammanfattning : The objects studied in this thesis are families of cycles on schemes. A space — the Chow variety — parameterizing effective equidimensional cycles was constructed by Chow and van der Waerden in the first half of the twentieth century. Even though cycles are simple objects, the Chow variety is a rather intractable object. LÄS MER
2. A Cross-layered Pilot Scheme for IEEE 802.11p
Sammanfattning : Vehicular communication is expected to be a part of the future transportation system and promises to support a plethora of applications for traffic safety, traffic efficiency, and fuel efficiency. Traffic safety applications, such as collision avoidance, demand reliable communications with low latency. LÄS MER
3. MaMiS : A Programming Environment for Numeric/Symbolic Data Processing
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes a programming environment (called MaMiS - MATLAB and MACSYMA in Scheme) for symbolic/numeric data processing. This programming environment is based on three main parts:Scheme, a symbol manipulating language (a LISP dialect)MATLAB, a program for numeric scientific calculationsMACSYMA, a program for formula manipulationsA fourth part is added to MaMiS, the text editor DNU Emacs, which is used as an interface between the user and Scheme. 4. On finite element schemes for Vlasov-Maxwell system and Schrödinger equation
Sammanfattning : This thesis treats finite element schemes for two kind of problems, the Valsov-Maxwellsystem and the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. We study streamline diffusion schemes applied for numerical solution of the one and one-half dimensional relativistic Vlasov-Maxwell system. The study is made both in a priori and a posteriori settings. LÄS MER
5. Trädgårdsmästarens förökningsmetoder – schema och katalog över förökningsdelar vid vegetativ förökning av fleråriga örtartade växter
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this licentiate thesis is to gather and classify information about traditional vegetative propagation of perennial herbaceous plants. This thesis is the first, self-contained part of a survey of propagation methods used by horticulturists. LÄS MER
