  2. 2. CD47–SIRPα : an interaction of importance for bone cell differentiation

    Författare :Cecilia Koskinen; Pernilla Lundberg; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Riku Kiviranta; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CD47; SIRPalpha; osteoblast; osteoclast; SHP-2; Akt2; cell research; cellforskning;

    Sammanfattning : Bone tissue is continuously remodeled by bone-forming osteoblasts and bone-resorbing osteoclasts, in processes tightly regulated by hormones, cytokines and growth factors. CD47, a ubiquitously expressed protein, and one of its ligands, signal-regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα), are two cell-surface proteins belonging to the immunoglobulin (Ig)-superfamily. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Expression and function of the protein tyrosine phosphatases SHP-1 and SHP-2 in prostate cancer

    Författare :Helena Tassidis; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer SHP-1SHP-2 IL-6phosphorylationsignalling pathways;

    Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is one of the most frequent cancers in males in Western countries. Radical prostatectomy serves as the first line of treatment for patients with localised prostate cancer. However, in many cases the cancer will recur. It is currently difficult to identify those patients at a high risk of tumour recurrence. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Redox-regulation of PTPs : mechanisms and impact on PDGFR signaling

    Författare :Markus Dagnell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) are reversibly oxidized upon activation of platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFβR). Dys-regulation of the PDGFβR signaling pathway is associated with several diseases, including cancers and cardiovascular disease, and is thus a known driver of disease progression. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Specific signaling through heteromeric PDGF receptor complexes

    Författare :Simon Ekman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is a potent mitogen and chemoattractant for mesenchymal cells and exert its effect by binding to two structurally related receptor tyrosine kinases, denoted α- and β-receptors. PDGF binding induces dimerization of its receptors, both homo-and heterodimerization, leading to their autophosphorylation on tyrosine residues and binding of downstream signaling molecules. LÄS MER
