  1. 1. Ropivacaine : An experimental and clinical study with special reference to analgesic, circulatory and antiinflammatory effects

    Författare :Ingemar Cederholm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Aims of the study: 1. to compare ropivacaine, a new long-acting amino-amide local anaesthetic drug, and bupivacaine (with/without adrenaline) concerning dermal analgesia and local vascular effects, 2. to design a suitable test procedure to evaluate changes in skin blood flow after intradermal injection of local anaesthetics, 3. 2. 2. Drug Transport and Metabolism in Rat and Human Intestine

    Författare :Sofia Berggren; Hans Lennernäs; Janet Hoogstraate; Patrick Augustijns; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biopharmacy; Ussing chamber; microsome; single-pass perfusion; human; rat; intestine; permeability; efflux; P-glycoprotein; metabolism; cytochrome P450; ropivacaine; lidocaine; bupivacaine; Biofarmaci; PPX;

    Sammanfattning : One of the aims of this thesis was to investigate the involvement of efflux proteins, such as the P-glycoprotein (Pgp), in the drug transport in different regions of the rat and the human intestine. The intestinal extrusion of intracellularly formed CYP3A4 metabolites, including whether this extrusion might be mediated by Pgp, was also studied. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Local infiltration analgesia in knee arthroplasty

    Författare :Per Essving; Kjell Axelsson; Lars Weidenhielm; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Knee arthroplasty; minimally invasive surgery; ropivacaine; ketorolac; intrathecal morphine; local infiltration analgesia; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Local infiltration analgesia (LIA) is a new technique for postoperative pain management following knee arthroplasty. LIA involves a long-acting local anesthetic (ropivacaine), a non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug (ketorolac) and epinephrine infiltrated into the knee joint during surgery and injected postoperatively via a catheter. Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Background. Orthognathic surgery means surgical correction of dentofacial and congenital deformities, which includes unsatisfactory facial aesthetics, malpositioned teeth, jaw moutcome osurgery. Developments within the invasive surgery and pharmacological modification of inflammatory responses. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Exploratory clinical development of ropivacaine, a local anaesthetic, in ulcerative colitis

    Författare :Eva Arlander; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Drug development; ulcerative colitis; ropivacaine; rectal administration; pharmacokinetics; metabolism.;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to explore the clinical pharmacology of ropivacaine gel as a potential new rectal therapy for ulcerative colitis (UC). The studies included pharmacokinetics, tolerability, preliminary efficacy in patients, formulation factors and drug-drug interactions. LÄS MER
