  1. 1. Effects of repetitive work on proprioception and of stretching on sensory mechanisms : implications for work-related neuromuscular disorders

    Författare :Martin Björklund; Håkan Johansson; Albert Crenshaw; Ronny Lorentzon; Måns Magnusson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Repetitive motions; Muscle fatigue; Proprioception; Muscle stretching; Work-related musculoskeletal disorders; Nociception; Ergonomics; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of the thesis were (i) to investigate the impact of repetitive low-intensity work exposure on proprioception and (ii) to examine effects of muscle stretching (especially sensory effects and effects on muscle nociception) and to relate its application to the prevention, alleviation and/or treatment of work-related neuromuscular disorders. The effects of low-intensity repetitive work on the shoulder proprioception were tested in healthy subjects. LÄS MER

  2. 2. On the effect of repetitive loading on the spine of young elite athletes. Clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Olof Thoreson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; spine; intervertebral disc; athlete; young adult; low back pain; magnetic resonance imaging; porcine; repetitive loading; failure; fatigue;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: The human spine is exposed to many different loads during daily activities and especially during sporting activities. The spine has different biomechanical properties during the lifetime and thereby responds differently to repetitive and sudden loads. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Production Systems for Manual Repetitive Jobs. Effects on Autonomy and Variety of Work and Prevalence of Musculoskeletal Disorders in Upper Limbs

    Författare :Marita Christmansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; work design; manual repetitive jobs; task design; upper limbs; production system design; autonomy; musculoskeletal disorders; assembly jobs; variety; work behavior;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to improve workers' conditions and it deals particularly with companies in the engineering industry. In many of these companies, production systems are designed to have manual repetitive jobs. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Work-related musculoskeletal disorders - exposure assessment and gender aspects

    Författare :Catarina Nordander; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Skelett; Occupational health; Yrkesmedicin; industrial medicine; arbetsmiljömedicin; reumatologi; muskelsystem; rheumatology locomotion; muscle system; Skeleton; repetitive work; sex; occupational; myalgia; Surface EMG; muscular activity;

    Sammanfattning : Work-related musculoskeletal disorders are widespread, and are, for unclear reasons, more common among females than in males. Several risk factors have been described; constrained and awkward postures, repetitive and/or force demanding motions, and lack of recovery. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Principles for planning and analyzing motions of underactuated mechanical systems and redundant manipulators

    Författare :Uwe Mettin; Anton Shiriaev; Alin Albu-Schäffer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Motion Planning; Underactuated Mechanical Systems; Redundant Manipulators; Virtual Holonomic Constraints; Orbital Stabilization; Human Movement; Walking Robots; Hydraulic Manipulators; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik; Automatic Control; reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Motion planning and control synthesis are challenging problems for underactuated mechanical systems due to the presence of passive (non-actuated) degrees of freedom. For those systems that are additionally not feedback linearizable and with unstable internal dynamics there are no generic methods for planning trajectories and their feedback stabilization. LÄS MER
