  1. 1. Preparation and optical characterisation of antireflection coatingsand reflector materials for solar energy systems

    Författare :Per Nostell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : An angle-resolved scatterometer and an integrating sphere for reflectance measurements at oblique angles of incidence have been designed and evaluated. The integrating sphere has a centre-mounted sample holder and the detector sits at the end of the sample holder and therefore always faces the same sphere wall area. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Solar Thermal Collectors at High Latitudes : Design and performance of non-tracking concentrators

    Författare :Monika Adsten; Manuel Collares-Pereira; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Solar thermal collectors; concentrators; CPC; high latitudes; Materialvetenskap; Solfångare; koncentratorer; höga latituder; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Solid State Physics; fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Solar thermal collectors at high latitudes have been studied, with emphasis on concentrating collectors. A novel design of concentrating collector, the Maximum Reflector Collector (MaReCo), especially designed for high latitudes, has been investigated optically and thermally. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Dielectrically Loaded Quad-ridge Flared Horns for Ultra Wideband Reflector Feed Applications in Radio Astronomy

    Författare :Jonas Flygare; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dielectric loaded antennas; dielectric materials; reflector antenna feeds; radio astronomy; ultra wideband antennas; quad-ridge flared horn qrfh ; radio receivers; horn antennas; broadband antennas; aperture antennas.;

    Sammanfattning : Reflector-based radio telescopes are used as tools for observations in both radio astronomy and space geodesy. To observe the weak sources in space, highly sensitive receivers, fronted by optimized reflector feeds, are therefore needed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Optical Efficiency of Low-Concentrating Solar Energy Systems with Parabolic Reflectors

    Författare :Maria Brogren; Arne Roos; Björn Karlsson; Andreas Häberle; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; Photovoltaic cells; Photovoltaic-thermal systems; Parabolic reflectors; Optical properties; Reflector materials; Optical efficiency; Accelerated ageing; Outdoor ageing; Building-integrated photovoltaics; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Solar electricity is a promising energy technology for the future, and by using reflectors for concentrating solar radiation onto photovoltaic cells, the cost per produced kWh can be significantly reduced. The optical efficiency of a concentrating system determines the fraction of the incident energy that is transferred to the cells and depends on the optical properties of the system components. 5. 5. Design and Characterization of Functional Structures for Electromagnetic Waves

    Författare :Andreas Ericsson; Teoretisk elektroteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electromagnetic scattering; functional structure; circular polarization selective structure; reflector antenna; electromagnetic absorber; radar cross section; compressive sensing; triaxial weave; homogenization; physical optics;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation deals with design and characterization of functional structures for scattering of electromagnetic waves. An abundance of these structures can be found in nature, such as the structural coloration in the feathers of a peacock, the scales of butterflies and the shell of scarab beetles. LÄS MER
