  1. 21. High performance fiber-optic interconnection networks for real-time computing systems

    Författare :Magnus Jonsson; Bertil Svensson; Timothy M. Pinkston; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fiber-optic communication; real-time communication; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Parallel and distributed computing systems become more and more powerful and hence place increasingly higher demands on the networks that interconnect their processors or processing nodes. Many of the applications running on such systems, especially embedded systems applications, have real-time requirements and, with increasing application demands, high-performance networks are the hearts of these systems. 2. 22. Improving Soft Real-time Performance of Fog Computing

    Författare :Vaclav Struhar; Moris Behnam; Seyed Mohammad Hossein Ashjaei; Alessandro Papadopoulos; Silviu Craciunas; Ivona Brandic; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fog computing; real-time systems; cloud; virtualization; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Fog computing is a distributed computing paradigm that brings data processing from remote cloud data centers into the vicinity of the edge of the network. The computation is performed closer to the source of the data, and thus it decreases the time unpredictability of cloud computing that stems from (i) the computation in shared multi-tenant remote data centers, and (ii) long distance data transfers between the source of the data and the data centers. 3. 23. Adaptive Concatenated Coding for Wireless Real-Time Communications

    Författare :Elisabeth Uhlemann; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Incremental redundancy hybrid ARQ; Multiple concatenated codes; Iterative decoding; Rate compatible punctured codes; Union bounds; EXIT charts; Convergence analysis; Wireless real-time communication; Quality of service; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to improve the performance of real-time communication overa wireless channel, by means of specifically tailored channel coding. The deadlinedependent coding (DDC) communication protocol presented here lets the timeliness and thereliability of the delivered information constitute quality of service (QoS) parametersrequested by the application. 4. 24. Active Distributed Power Systems Functional Structures for Real-Time Operation of Sustainable Energy Systems

    Författare :Jörgen Svensson; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Automation; Distributed power systems; RES; Power electronics; Energy management system; Real-time operation; Advanced functions; Communication; Elektronik och elektroteknik; Electronics and Electrical technology; robotics; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Present power system will face great challenges in several areas depending on the market economy, extensive global integration and constant need for more electric power, which will force the system to operate much closer to its stability limits. Meeting these challenges may involve improving and complementing or even total restructuring of the power systems. LÄS MER

  5. 25. On Reliable Real Time Communication in Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks

    Författare :Kan Yu; Mats Björkman; Maria Lindén; Mikael Gidlund; Johan Åkerberg; Peter Stenumgaard; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In the industrial automation, Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks (IWSNs) have been increasingly applied due to a great number of benefits such as convenient installation, flexible deployment and cost efficiency. Compared with conventional wireless systems, IWSNs have more stringent requirements communication reliability and real time performance. LÄS MER
